BASEBALL: Koopman scores on error, Eagles top Bengals in nine

Peyton Koopman scored on an error in the top of the ninth to give Boulder City’s baseball team a 5-4 road win over Bonanza on Friday.

Koopman was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. He went to second on a wild pitch, stole third and came home on an error.

The rest of Boulder City’s scoring came in a four-run third inning. Austin Wishard and Will Knudsen each drove in two runs for the Eagles, and Koopman was 2-for-3 with two runs.

Keith Werner went 2-for-4 with two runs to lead Bonanza. His solo homer in the third tied the game, 4-4.

Green Valley 3, Silverado 1 — At Green Valley, Keola Paragas tossed a two-hitter and delivered a tie-breaking two-run triple with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning to lift the Gators by the Skyhawks.

Paragas struck out eight and issued only an intentional walk. His triple plated Keaton Smith and Cody Milner with the go-ahead runs.

Aidan Adams had both of Silverado’s hits, including a double.

Mojave 4, Chaparral 3 — At Mojave, Brady Allen’s one-out RBI single in the bottom of the sixth broke a 3-3 tie and lifted the Rattlers over the Cowboys.

Otto Hernandez led off with a single, stole second and went to third on a ground ball.

Alex Smith went the distance, allowing two earned runs on six hits, to get the win. Smith struck out six with no walks.

Chase Anderson went 2-for-2 for Mojave, and teammate Tyler Ledgister was 1-for-2 with two runs and a stolen base.

Chaparral’s Tyler Crone went 2-for-2.

Basic 6, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Basic, Josh McLean threw a five-hitter with eight strikeouts and one walk to power the Wolves past the Mustangs.

Isaac Perez went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and teammate Ryne Nelson was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Jordan Hand homered in the top of the first for Shadow Ridge.

Pahrump Valley 8, Tech 7 — At Pahrump, Richard Greene’s RBI double with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning broke a 6-6 tie and helped the Trojans edge the Roadrunners.

Cristian Balding added an RBI single later in the inning to plate Greene, and the Trojans held on.

Chad Uyeno went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and winning pitcher Eduardo Gonzalez was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Pahrump, which also got a 2-for-2 effort from Greene.

Elias Peinado was 3-for-3 with a double for Tech.

Desert Pines 10, Clark 1 — At Desert Pines, Ryan Naki-Poomaihealani went 2-for-3 with two runs to lead the Jaguars over the Chargers.

Iquan Corsey and Jose Avelino both doubled for Desert Pines, which scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break the game open.

Del Sol 15, Western 3 — At Western, the Dragons scored 11 runs in the top of the fourth inning, and Stanley Natale went the distance and struck out 10, in a five-inning win over the Warriors.

Natale also went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Aaron Squires added two RBIs, and was 1-for-1 with two walks. Nathan Fenn went 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Dragons.

Edgar Reyes hit a solo home run for Western.

Bishop Gorman 14, Lowell (Calif.) 4 — At Gorman, Drew Newson was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to help the Gaels to the five-inning win.

Cadyn Grenier went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Cole Krzmarzick was 2-for-2 with three RBI for Gorman.
