BASEBALL: Nelson throws no-hitter to lead Wolves by Falcons

Ryne Nelson threw a no-hitter and went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, three RBIs and a run to lead Basic’s baseball team to an 11-0 road victory over Foothill on Wednesday.
Nelson struck out six and walked four.
Roger Riley was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, and Logan Green tripled for Basic, which scored five runs in the top of the fifth to ice the game.
Centennial 4, Bonanza 3 — At Bonanza, Tanner Wright was 2-for-4 with two runs to help the Bulldogs hold off the Bengals.
Jared Drizin was 2-for-4 with a run, and Travis Stevens and Zachary Dixon each added two hits for Centennial, which led 4-0 after three innings.
Jordon Wyke went the distance, allowing two earned runs on six hits, to get the win. He struck out five and walked one.
Eric Schultz was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Jay DeSoto added two hits for Bonanza, which scored all of its runs in the sixth inning.
The Bengals had the tying run at second with two outs in the sixth, but Wyke induced a foul pop to end the inning.
Rancho 8, Coronado 6 — At Rancho, Anthony Becerra earned the win on the mound and went 3-for-4 with a two-run triple to guide the Rams by the Cougars.
Zach Barnhart had three hits and two RBIs for Rancho, which got a save in relief from Robert Spinelli.
Nicco Festa had a solo home run, and Donte Glover provided two hits and two RBIs to lead Coronado.
Mojave 12, Clark 10 — At Mojave, Chase Anderson had two hits, three RBIs and a stolen base, and teammate Scotty Wilson added three hits and two RBIs as the Rattlers held off the Chargers.
Otto Hernandez provided two hits, two runs and two RBIs, and Ryan Lawrence had two doubles and two runs for Mojave, which scored six runs in the fourth inning.
Clark’s Matthew Thompson had three hits, three runs and an RBI, and Stefan McLin supplied three hits, an RBI and a stolen base to pace the Chargers, who scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Bishop Gorman 8, Palo Verde 1 — At Palo Verde, the Gaels broke a scoreless tie with seven runs in the top of the fifth en route to the win over the Panthers.
Beau Capanna and Grant Robbins each went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs for Gorman. Cadyn Grenier was 2-for-4 with two runs, and Matt Hudgins went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI for the Gaels.
Jack Little allowed just two hits in five scoreless innings to get the win. He struck out five with no walks.
Cobi Fiechtner was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI for Palo Verde.
Faith Lutheran 15, Spring Valley 2 — At Spring Valley, Joshua Harmonay went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs and three RBIs, and Greg Sylvester homered as the Crusaders pounded the Grizzlies in six innings.
Cruz Daddario had a double and four RBIs for Faith Lutheran, which scored seven runs in the fifth inning to take an 11-2 lead. Brandon Davis, Alex Giuliani and Zach Trageton also doubled as the Crusaders finished with 15 hits.
Trageton went five innings and struck out seven, while allowing two runs on four hits, to earn the win.
Jake Sellinger was 2-for-3 with a run-scoring double in the fourth for Spring Valley. Bryce Bullock knocked in the Grizzlies’ other run with a fourth-inning single.
Green Valley 12, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Jimmy Montiel went 3-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI to help the Gators to the five-inning win over the Sundevils.
Jarod Penniman was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Frankie Fitzgerald was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and an RBI for Green Valley.
Jarrett Perns allowed one hit over three innings with five strikeouts to get the win.
Jordan Eldred was 2-for-2 for Eldorado.
Sierra Vista 10, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Sierra Vista, Cade Burdett pitched a three-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts, and Dillon Larson smacked a three-run double as the Mountain Lions topped the Trojans in five innings.
Justin Rasavage was 3-for-3 with a double, Burdett added a double, and Jhared Gonzalez supplied a run-scoring triple for Sierra Vista.
Dylan Ault had a triple for Pahrump Valley.
Boulder City 8, Tech 0 — At Boulder City, Peyton Koopman allowed one hit in five shutout innings and went 1-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Eagles over the Roadrunners.
Austin Shepard was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Nolan DeSantis and Austin Wishard each had two hits and two runs for Tech.
Koopman struck out five and walked five for Boulder City, which scored three runs in the first and led 8-0 after three innings.
Cheyenne 7, Western 0 — At Cheyenne, the Desert Shields won by forfeit.
