BASEBALL: Skelly, Skyhawks edge Roadrunners

James Skelly tossed a five-hitter and struck out nine Friday to lead Silverado’s baseball team to a 2-1 home win over Tech.
Dillon Johnson was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Michael Camburn was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Skyhawks.
Dax Fellows added two hits for Silverado.
Trevor Kephart went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Roadrunners.
Cimarron-Memorial 14, Canyon Springs 4 — At Cimarron, Jeff Griffith was 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs, and the Spartans used a nine-run fifth inning to top the Pioneers in five innings.
Tyler Baca was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Luis Flores went 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Cimarron.
Carlos Alcala went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Canyon Springs.
Bishop Gorman 11, Canyon View (Utah) 0 — At Gorman, Chase Maddux allowed two hits in four shutout innings, and the Gaels scored nine runs in the bottom of the first en route to the easy win.
Cadyn Grenier went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and two stolen bases for Gorman.
Basic 10, Canyon View (Utah) 0 — At Basic, Tanner Roundy fired a three-hitter and struck out nine as the Wolves topped the Falcons in five innings.
Cory Wills was 2-for-2 with a game-ending a home run, a triple and four RBIs, and Josh McLean was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Basic.
Valley 9, Clark 2 — At Clark, Roberto Gonzalez-Aleman drove in two runs to lead the Vikings past the Chargers.
Winning pitcher Isaiah Cardenas allowed one run on two hits in five innings for Valley.
Macun Sotelo had three hits for Clark.
Cheyenne 15, Virgin Valley 2 — At Cheyenne, George Carmona went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, and the Desert Shields pounded out 17 hits in a five-inning rout of the Bulldogs.
Angelo Hallenback was 3-for-3 with a triple and three runs for Cheyenne.
Korey Poole tossed a four-hitter for the Desert Shields.
Del Sol 4, Eldorado 3 — At Eldorado, reliever Matt Styck got a strikeout with the tying run at third in the bottom of the seventh to end the game and preserve the win for the Dragons.
Starter Jorge Costa went 6 1/3 innings, but was pulled after a walk in the seventh. Styck retired the first batter he faced, but the runner advanced to third on a stolen base and a wild pitch.
Costa allowed four hits and struck out two to get the win.
Jason Rolland had an RBI double for the Dragons.
Joseph Torres hit a two-run homer for Eldorado.
Pahrump Valley 10, Bagdad (Ariz.) 9 — At Mohave Valley, Ariz., Dylan Ault was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs as the Trojans held off the Sultans in five innings in the Route 66 Tournament.
Case Murphy was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Pahrump, which scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to break a 7-7 tie.
Pahrump Valley 5, Page (Ariz.) 0 — At Mohave Valley, Ariz., Drew Walker tossed a one-hitter with seven strikeouts and was 2-for-4 as the Trojans topped Page in the Route 66 Tournament.
Josh Mortensen was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Tyler Green went 2-for-2 with an RBI for Pahrump.
The Meadows 10, Monument Valley (Ariz.) 4 — At Mohave Valley, Ariz., Drake Gordon and Adam Martinez combined on a four-inning one-hitter as The Meadows topped Monument Valley in the Route 66 Tournament.
Christian Rimoldi had two hits and two RBIs, and Nabeel Afzal and Martinez each added two hits for The Meadows.
Greyhills Academy (Ariz.) 7, Mountain View 6 — At Needles, Calif., Greyhills managed just one hit, but edged the Saints in the Route 66 Tournament.
Ian Locke was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Chase Ottofy homered for Mountain View.
Lee Williams (Ariz.) 12, Mountain View 6 — At Needles, Calif., the Volunteers scored in each of the four innings and downed the Saints in the Route 66 Tournament.
Ottofy was 1-for-2 with a double and three RBIs, and Locke went 1-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI for Mountain View.
Sandy Valley 10-12, Spring Mountain 9-3 — At Mountain Ridge Park, Jason Deer had three RBIs in the nightcap as the Sidewinders swept the Golden Eagles in a pair of four-inning games.
Lane Eastham added a double and two RBIs in the second game.
Deer picked up the win in the opener and also hit a double.
Aaron Powell had a double and two RBIs in the first game for Spring Mountain.
Round Mountain 13-3, Pahrump Valley JV 1-0 — At Pahrump, the Knights swept the Trojans’ junior varsity team.
