BASEBALL: Teddy Lobkowicz’s RBI single in 7th caps Boulder City’s comeback

Teddy Lobkowicz singled home Rhett Armstrong with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, and Boulder City’s baseball team rallied for a 6-5 victory over visiting Desert Pines on Thursday.

Nolan Herr’s run-scoring single with the bases loaded tied the game at 5 one batter before Lobkowicz’s heroics.

Lobkowicz was 2-for-4 with a run, and Jake Hubel also went 2-for-4 and scored for the Eagles, who trailed 4-0 entering the bottom of the fourth inning.

Jorge Milian was 2-for-5 with two RBIs to lead Desert Pines.

Raymond Minero was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Juan Castaneda was 2-for-4 and drove in a run for the Jaguars.

Bishop Gorman 10, Durango 4 — At Durango, John Gaughan went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Gaels past the Trailblazers.

Jorel Hignada was 2-for-4 with two doubles three runs, and Ryan Sepede had a double and three RBIs for Gorman.

Nick Hernandez added two hits for the Gaels, who used a four-run sixth inning to take a 9-4 lead.

Renae Lara was 2-for-2 with a triple and two runs, and Josh Barry went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs to lead Durango. Richard Mascarenas added two hits, including a double, for the Trailblazers.

Centennial 7, Damonte Ranch 6 — At Centennial, Alex Bueno scored on Michael Jones’ bunt in the bottom of the seventh to give the Bulldogs the win over the Mustangs.

Bueno was 1-for-1 with a triple and two runs, and Austin Kryszczuk pitched a scoreless seventh to pick up the win.

Arbor View 7, Prairie View (Colo.) 5 — At Arbor View, Nick Cornman was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI as the Aggies edged the Thunderhawks.

Nick Roeper was 1-for-2 with two runs for Arbor View, which scored five runs in the bottom of the first to take a 5-4 lead.

Brad Stone threw five hitless innings of relief to get the win.

Las Vegas 5, Wooster 2 — At Las Vegas High, Kevin Verduzco was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs as the Wildcats took down the Colts.

Payton Miller and Carlos Martinez each doubled for the Wildcats.

Moapa Valley 17, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Overton, Anthony Cornwall was 2-for-2 with a three-run home run as the Pirates routed the Miners in four innings.

Hunter Wininski went 2-for-2 for Moapa Valley, and Chase Hadley went the distance to get the win.

Virgin Valley 17, Cheyenne 3 — At Mesquite, the Bulldogs scored 11 runs in the third inning on the way to the five-inning victory over the Desert Shields.

Kaden Peterson had three hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs for Virgin Valley. Easton Jensen added two hits and three RBIs for the Bulldogs.

The Meadows 16-11, Mountain View 1-6 — At Mountain View, Trey Covell went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs as the Mustangs rolled over the Saints in three innings in the first game of a doubleheader.

Sam Kaplan was 2-for-2 with four RBIs for The Meadows.

In the second game, Kaplan was 2-for-2 with a double, triple and two RBIs. The game was called final because of weather after one inning.

Adam Martinez doubled and had three RBIs for the Mustangs.

Needles 19-14, Adelson School 4-0 — At Oxford Park, Ezra Ponce threw a one-hitter with five strikeouts in the nightcap as the Mustangs swept the Lions.

Ponce struck out five to earn the four-inning win. Reid Shaver went 4-for-4 for Needles.

Dylan Hetrick went 3-for-4 with a home run to help the Mustangs to the five-inning win in the opener.

Damon Lewis was 2-for-3 with a homer for Needles.

Harrison Clayton went 2-for-3 with a double for Adelson School.

Indian Springs 15, Sandy Valley 0 — At Indian Springs, the Thunderbirds defeated the Sidewinders in the first game of a doubleheader. The second game was postponed due to weather.

Sierra Vista at Clark — The game was suspended after a half inning because of high winds with the Mountain Lions leading 3-0.

Spring Valley at Bonanza — The game between the Grizzlies and Bengals was postponed due to windy conditions.

Mojave at Chaparral — The game between the Rattlers and Cowboys was postponed due to windy conditions.

Pahrump Valley vs. Chadwick School (Calif.) — At Reno, the game between the Trojans and the Dolphins at the Baseball Brawl was postponed until Friday.

Liberty baseball coach Rich Ebarb died Wednesday night, the school confirmed. Ebarb has a long coaching resume in Southern Nevada.
