Brewers nab Gorman’s Meimerstorf in 40th round

Bishop Gorman outfielder Kenny Meimerstorf was chosen by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 40th round (No. 1,202 overall) of the Major League Baseball draft on Saturday.

The 5-foot-11-inch, 195-pound Meimerstorf hit .438 with 15 home runs and 55 RBIs for the Gaels as a senior. He was the lone prep player from Southern Nevada to be selected on the final day of the draft.

Meimerstorf has signed a letter of intent with Arizona.
