DIVISION I-A BASEBALL: Ragone, Fleming guide Eagles past Cowboys

Tino Ragone was 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Corbett Fleming drove in three runs to help Boulder City’s baseball team to an 11-5 home win over Chaparral in the Division I-A Southern Region Tournament on Tuesday.

Billy Barth, D.J. Koopman and Mario Castanon each added two hits for the Eagles, who scored eight runs in the bottom of the first.

Boulder City (21-7) plays at Faith Lutheran (23-8) at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the winners’ bracket final.

Freddie Briones was 2-for-3 with a run for Chaparral (21-8), which plays Tech (13-9) in an elimination game at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran.

Faith Lutheran 4, Moapa Valley 0 — At Faith Lutheran, three pitchers combined on a one-hitter as the Crusaders blanked the Pirates.

Jordan Dreibelbis pitched five shutout innings to get the win. Erich Uelmen and John Thomas each tossed a scoreless inning of relief.

The Crusaders (23-8) scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth on three consecutive singles and a two-base error.

Moapa Valley (16-9-1) plays Western (12-18) in an elimination game at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran.

Western 9, Cheyenne 1 — At Western, Ryan Garbowski went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Osvaldo Escobar added two doubles and an RBI to help the Warriors eliminate the Desert Shields (7-18).

Javier Ruiz supplied a triple and scored twice and Edgar Reyes fired a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts to get the win.

Tech 16, Pahrump Valley 12 — At Pahrump Valley, Bryan Casas went 4-for-5 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs, and Josh West was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs as the Roadrunners outlasted the Trojans.

Winning pitcher Abel Martinez was 3-for-3 with four runs and two RBIs for Tech (13-9).

Aukai Alameda went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Tyler Green had two hits, two runs and two RBIs for Pahrump Valley, which finished 14-16.
