GRIZZLY-BENGAL TOURNAMENT: Keiser, Patriots claim title

Jesse Keiser went 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs on Wednesday to help Liberty’s baseball team win the Grizzly-Bengal Spring Break Tourney with a 12-2, five-inning victory over Bonanza at Spring Valley.
The Patriots finished 3-1 in the round-robin tournament to place first in the five-team field.
Preston Pavlica was 1-for-1 with two RBIs, and Brandon Soratos was 2-for-2 with a run for Liberty, which used a seven-run third inning to take control.
Spring Valley 6, Bonanza 4 — Winning pitcher Michael Macove went 2-for-4 with an RBI to help the Grizzlies top the Bengals.
Jake Sellinger was 2-for-4 with a double, and Zane Drachler went 2-for-3 for Spring Valley.
Micah Higa hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning for Bonanza.
Palo Verde 11, Legacy 5 — J.D. Brooks went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and the Panthers scored 10 runs in the final four innings to down the Longhorns.
Zach Ortale was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Colin Janison added a double and two RBIs for Palo Verde.
Hayden LeCates was 2-for-2 with a double, and Garrett Christiansen was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Legacy.
