Macias helps Durango baseball top Legacy

Sean Macias went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and three RBIs on Saturday to lead Durango’s baseball team to a 19-8 win at Legacy in five innings.

Winning pitcher Vince Lombardi didn’t allow an earned run in three innings of relief and was 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and two RBIs for the Trailblazers, who scored seven runs in the top of the second to take a 10-0 lead.

Enrique Mesa was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and Justin Borlase went 2-for-4 with a double, four runs and an RBI for Durango. Anthony Parry was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Jacob Skipper went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Trailblazers.

The Trailblazers took a 12-6 lead into the fifth and scored seven runs after two were out in the inning to put the game out of reach.

Nick DeLuca was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Aaron Trifunac and Donta Williams both went 2-for-3 for the Longhorns, who got three RBIs from Dwight Taylor.
