O’ Connor’s no-hitter, Chaparral bats silence Bulldogs

Mark Nick O’Connor fired a no-hitter Tuesday to lead Chaparral’s baseball team to a 10-0, six-inning win over visiting Virgin Valley.

O’Connor struck out 14 , walked one and hit two batters to run his record to 5-0.

He also went 2-for-3 with three runs, an RBI and two stolen bases to lead the offense.

Tommy Crone went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI for the Cowboys.

Bonanza 6, Centennial 0 —
At Centennial, Nick Risucci tossed a five-hit shutout with six strikeouts and no walks as the Bengals downed the Bulldogs.

Risucci needed only 81 pitches in the effort, and reached a three-ball count just once for Bonanza.

Daniel Romero had two hits, including a triple, and Robert Higgs supplied two hits, a run, and an RBI to lead the Bengals.

Coronado 10, Basic 7 —
At Basic, Julian Burrola doubled, homered and scored twice, and Miles Bice went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs as the Cougars outslugged the Wolves.

Cain Brady was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Mike Maiello hit a home run for Coronado, which also got a double from Tyler Brown.

Hunter Robinson homererd for Basic, and teammate Mikey York went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Skyler Mahoney and Ryan Blatnik doubled for the Wolves, who led 5-1 after one inning.

Foothill 3, Del Sol 0 —
At Foothill, Zack Avery doubled twice and threw six shutout innings to lead the Falcons over the Dragons.

Avery allowed four hits, struck out eight and walked three.

Tyler Van Stone threw a scoreless seventh to get the save.

Del Sol’s Nick Trujillo went the distance, allowing two earned runs on five hits. He struck out six and walked three.

Boulder City 9, Tech 4 —
At Tech, Bill Barth was 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs to help the Eagles top the Roadrunners.

Peyton Koopman was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and D.J. Koopman drove in two runs for Boulder City.

Starter Tino Ragone allowed just one hit, but walked seven. He gave up three runs and struck out eight. Reliever Taylor Wold allowed an unearned run in three innings to get a save.

Patrick Camburn scored twice for Tech.

Mojave 14, Desert Pines 4 —
At Mojave, Zack Gardner doubled, tripled, and drove in two runs as the Rattlers defeated the Jaguars in five innings.

David Rowley finished 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, and Andrew Ehrensaft supplied three hits and two RBIs for Mojave, which got a four-hitter from pitcher Alex Smith.

Iquan Corsey had two hits and a run for Desert Pines.

Cimarron-Memorial 9, Legacy 4 — At Legacy, Micquel Robinson and Gerald Robins each went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI as the Spartans topped the Longhorns.

Niko Decolati added two runs for Cimarron, which scored two runs in the fifth to take a 4-3 lead.
Nick Borowski allowed no earned runs in three innings of relief to get the win.

Quentin Ewing went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs to lead Legacy.

Bishop Gorman 17, Desert Oasis 3 — At Desert Oasis, Jerrel Latham went 3-for-4 with two home runs and seven RBIs as the Gaels routed the Diamondbacks in six innings.

Michael Blasko was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Gorman, which scored eight runs in the top of the sixth.

Liberty 12, Eldorado 0 — At Liberty, Griffin Kelly went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Preston Pavlica was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs as the Patriots blanked the Sundevils in five innings.

Jesse Keiser went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and James Martz added two hits and two RBIs for Liberty, which also got two hits from Ethan Ibarra.

Moapa Valley 10, Sunrise Mountain 1 —
At Sunrise Mountain, Kasen Hughes went 3-for-4 and scored three runs, and Jake Repp was 3-for-5 with a double, a run and an RBI as the Pirates downed the Miners.

Chad Jones went 2-for-4 with a double and Jared Repp got the win, fanning eight in six innings, for Moapa Valley.

Shadow Ridge 7, Wooster 6 — At Shadow Ridge, Frankie Robles singled home Jordan Hand in the bottom of the seventh to give the Mustangs the win over the Colts.

Robles also had a bases-loaded walk, and Logan Hold tripled for Shadow Ridge.

Colton Duminie supplied an RBI double and a run for Wooster.

Pahranagat Valley 18-17, Indian Springs 2-4 —
At Alamo, Tyler Higbee had a grand slam and a two-run triple in the opener to help the Panthers to the sweep.

Higbee also picked up the win in the first game.
