ROUNDUP: Antos’ antics allow Centennial to hold off Legacy in doubleheader

Anthony Antos hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to lift Centennial to a 7-6 win over visiting Legacy on Friday to give the Bulldogs a doubleheader sweep in the Lions Kick-Off Tournament.

Adrian Rodriguez also homered for Centennial, which trailed 6-2 entering the bottom of the fourth.

In the first game, Bryan Bonnell tossed a five-hitter to give Centennial the 4-2 win.

Legacy’s Joey Lauria hit a two-run homer to tie it at 2-2 in the fourth inning, but the Bulldogs answered with two runs in the sixth.

Sierra Vista 12-8, Green Valley 1-13 — At Green Valley, the Mountain Lions won the first game 12-1 and the Gators earned the split with a 13-8 victory in the second game of a doubleheader in the Lions Kick-Off Tournament.

Nick Kingham homered twice, drove in three runs and also picked up the win for Sierra Vista in the first game.

Brett Harrison homered for the Gators in the loss.

Green Valley used a nine-run sixth inning to earn a 13-8 win in the second game.

Evan Van Hoosier was 3-for-4 with a triple, home run and four RBIs, and Tariq Staton went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs for Green Valley.

Jake Findlay had two solo home runs for the Mountain Lions.

Bonanza 10, Liberty 6 — At Liberty, Eddie Orozco went 2-for-3 with a home run to help the Bengals beat the Patriots in six innings.

Teddy Merich went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Bonanza, and teammate Kris Bryant went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a triple.

Trevor Williams had two doubles to lead Liberty.

Silverado 27, Desert Pines 0 — At Silverado, Bobby Johnson went 3-for-3 with a home run, two doubles and six RBIs, and Silverado scored 20 runs in the bottom of the first inning on its way to a rout of the Jaguars.

Jeremy Morski added two doubles, and Drew Robinson, A.J. Ford and Wyatt Reed also had two hits apiece for the Skyhawks.

Coronado 10, Vancouver (Canada) 10 — At Coronado, the Cougars settled for a tie in a game called after five innings due to darkness.

Miles Bice went 2-for-3 with two triples for Coronado.

Cody Giordano went 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs scored, and Zane Korth went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored to help the Cougars.

Mojave 3, Sunrise Mountain 3 — At Sunrise Mountain, Nick Snyder tossed a three-hitter with two strikeouts and didn’t allow an earned run as the Miners tied Mojave in a game that was called after five innings due to darkness.

Foothill 13, Syracuse (Utah) 3 — At St. George, Utah, Jordan Stewart went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and five RBIs to power the Falcons to the victory in five innings at the Little Caesar’s Invitational.

Foothill’s Gabby Soto struck out seven in a five-inning complete game.

Lehi (Utah) 12, Foothill 11 — At St. George, Utah, a fielding error in the bottom of the seventh inning allowed the Pioneers to score the winning run.

Stewart, Dakota Wadkins and Garret Dobrolecki each homered for Foothill, which collected 14 hits.

Wadkins went 3-for-5 for the Falcons, and teammates Kris Soto, Gabby Soto and Kyle Moyes had two hits apiece.

Cimarron-Memorial 17, Provo (Utah) 1 — At St. George, the Spartans scored eight runs in the third and seven in the fourth to earn an easy win over the Bulldogs in the Little Caesar’s Invitational.

Vinnie Fresquez had two doubles and drove in four runs, and James Carraway had a double with three RBIs  for Cimarron-Memorial.

Travis Hendry had six strikeouts in four innings to earn the win for the Spartans.

Arbor View 6, American Fork (Utah) 3 — At St. George, Utah, Evan McMahan needed only 79 pitches to toss a complete-game five-hitter in lifting the Aggies past the Cavemen in the Marshall Gates Classic.

McMahan struck out one and didn’t allow a walk, and the Aggies scored once in every inning except the fourth.

Copper Hills (Utah) 9, Faith Lutheran 0 — At St. George, Copper Hills scored eight runs over the final three innings to defeat the Crusaders in the Marshall Gates Classic.

Faith Lutheran managed just four hits.

Faith Lutheran 9, American Fork (Utah)  8 — At St. George, Devin Chavez’s RBI single in the sixth inning scored Dylan Hanson with the go-ahead run as the Crusaders edged the Cavemen.

Chavez was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and Blake Mathias had two doubles for Faith Lutheran.

Page (Utah) 6, Valley 5 — At Mesquite, Page scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull out a win over the Vikings in the Sherm Bennett Memorial Cactus Classic.

Hansel Escamilla went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Valley, and teammate Eric Herring was 2-for-4 with a double.

Valley 11, Moapa Valley 2 — At Mesquite, Escamilla slugged a three-run home run, and Valley grabbed an 8-0 lead in the second inning on its way to a win over the Pirates in the Cactus Classic.

East (Utah) 6, Virgin Valley 2 — At Mesquite, East used a three-run fourth inning to take the final lead in a 6-2 win over Virgin Valley.
Jason Wittwer hit 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for the Bulldogs.

Virgin Valley 11, The Meadows 3 — At Mesquite, the Bulldogs scored seven runs in the final two innings en route to an easy 11-3 win over the Mustangs.

Indian Springs 20, Trinity 13 — At Rivera Field, the Thunderbirds scored nine runs in the fifth inning in a rout of the Thunder.

Junior Baker went 4-for-4 with a double and a triple for Indian Springs, and teammate Xavier Pena was 4-for-6 with a double.
Indian Springs piled up 27 hits.

Gage Neuwohner went 3-for-5 with four RBIs for Trinity.
