ROUNDUP: Borowski, Spartans walk off with win over Bulldogs

Nick Borowski’s bases-loaded single up the middle with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday plated Effie Garcia with the winning run as Cimarron-Memorial’s baseball team rallied for a 5-4 win over visiting Centennial.

The Spartans trailed 4-0 before scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Drew Danzeisen was hit by a pitch to start the bottom of the seventh and advanced to second on a passed ball.

Garcia’s sacrifice bunt was misplayed, allowing him to reach second and Danzeisen to move to third.

Josh Nuernberg singled home Danzeisen to tie the game, and after an intentional walk to Dominic Calabria, Borowski collected the winning hit.

Nuernberg was 2-for-4 with a triple, a run and two RBIs, and Borowski went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Cimarron. Ryan Corwin was 3-for-3 with a run for the Spartans.

Casey Moses went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI for the Bulldogs.

Las Vegas 8, Green Valley 7 — At Las Vegas High, Dustin Cash’s single plated Tyler Tidwell with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Wildcats rallied from a 7-0 first-inning deficit to nip the Gators.

Damiko Mack’s RBI triple in the fifth inning tied the game for Las Vegas.

Ryan Ruesch tossed six scoreless innings in relief, allowing just one hit, to get the win.

Palo Verde 3, Shadow Ridge 2 — At Shadow Ridge, Brett Bovee tossed a five-hitter to lead the Panthers past the Mustangs.

Palo Verde got a solo home run from Grayson Webber.

Desert Oasis 5, Clark 2 — At Clark, Kyle Motis doubled twice and scored two runs to help lift the Diamondbacks to a win over the Chargers.

Barry Lasseigne and Jordan Compehos combined on a three-hitter for Desert Oasis, which got a double from Compehos and two hits from Joel Lewis.

Spring Valley 5, Durango 2 — At Spring Valley, Cody Foremaster went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to help the Grizzlies beat the Trailblazers.

Cody Smith also went 2-for-3 for Spring Valley, which scored three runs in the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie.

Brett Neighbors went 3-for-4 to lead Durango, and teammate Jacob Dismont went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs.

Bishop Gorman 10, Western 0 — At Gorman, Cameron Cole tossed a five-inning one-hitter to lead the Gaels to a win over the Warriors.

Cole faced only two batters more than the minimum. He struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter, allowing only a fifth-inning single to Edgar Reyes.

Joey Gallo was 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBIs for Gorman. Kenny Meimerstorf was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Gaels, and teammates Jerrel Latham and A.J. Van Meetren each singled and drove in two runs.

Arbor View 15, Cheyenne 2 — At Cheyenne, Jordan Godman extended his school-record hitting streak to 28 games, going 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs and three RBIs as the Aggies routed the Desert Shields in five innings.

Vince Ceffalio was 2-for-2 with a double, four runs and an RBI, and Evan McMahan went 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs for Arbor View.

Lamon Harvey was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs for Cheyenne.

Sierra Vista 13, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Pahrump, Nolan Kingham pitched a six-inning four-hitter to lead the Mountain Lions over the Trojans.

Cole Crosby was 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs, and Robert Lee finished 3-for-4 for Sierra VIsta.

Aukai Alameda was 2-for-3 for Pahrump. 

Faith Lutheran 17, Mojave 4 — At Mojave, Zach Skipper doubled and drove in three runs, and David Edson and Andrew Hudgins each added a double and two RBIs to lead the Crusaders past the Rattlers in six innings.

Caleb Summerhays homered for Faith Lutheran.

Carlos Romo doubled and had two RBIs for Mojave.

Legacy 9, Rancho 7 — At Rancho, the Longhorns scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat the Rams.

Josh Torres went 4-for-4 with two doubles to lead Legacy, which trailed 5-1 after the first inning. Teammate Kyle Peeler went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Bonanza 17, Virgin Valley 1 — At Bonanza, Travis Ming belted a grand slam, and teammate Jack Orozco went 2-for-2 with five RBIs as the Bengals routed the Bulldogs in five innings.

Daniel Romero had a triple and three runs for Bonanza, which got two hits from Zach Ontiveros.

Cody Faught supplied a solo homer for Virgin Valley’s lone hit.

Sunrise Mountain 10, Pahranagat Valley 4 — At Sunrise Mountain, Ernie Senda went 3-for-4 with an RBI triple, and the Miners used a four-run first inning to down the Panthers.

Danny Guardado was 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored for Sunrise Mountain, which got two hits apiece from Angel Chavez and Nick Snyder.

Frankie Apodaca and Michael Estrada combined on a four-hitter, with Apodaca earning the win.

Tyson Sparrow supplied an RBI double, and Jeffrey Jones went 2-for-3 with two runs for Pahranagat Valley.

Moapa Valley 6-5, Boulder City 5-6 — At Boulder City, Lane Stringham went 2-for-4 with a double in the opener and 3-for-4 in the nightcap as the Pirates earned a split of the doubleheader with the Eagles.

Jake Repp was 2-for-3 with a triple, a run and an RBI in the first game for Moapa Valley. Justin Hughes was 3-for-4 in the second game for the Pirates.

In the nightcap, Colton Bosnos scored the winning run from third on a botched squeeze bunt in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Pirates had Bosnos trapped in a rundown, but dropped a throw at the plate, allowing Bosnos to score.

Bill Barth was 3-for-4, and Corbett Fleming and Aubrey Wrightsman each went 2-for-4 in the second game for Boulder City, which clinched the 3A Southern League regular-season title.

Colton Schulz homered, and Thomas Shelley and Michael Hernandez each went 3-for-4 with a double in the first game for the Eagles.

Needles 9-3, Laughlin 1-2 — At Needles, Calif., Matt McAndrews pitched a no-hitter with 18 strikeouts and three walks in the second game to highlight a sweep for the Mustangs.

Mason Cisneros went 3-for-3, and Aiden Shaver was 2-for-3 for Needles in the nightcap.

Needles’ Devon Truscott pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the first game. William Dunn went 4-for-4 for the Mustangs, and Austin Baldwin and Cisneros each tripled.

The Meadows 22-17, Lake Mead 1-1 — At River Mountain Park, Justin Diamond and Drake Gordon combined on a no-hitter in the first game to highlight a pair of five-inning victories for the Mustangs.

Ian Holbrook pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts in the second game for The Meadows, which secured the No. 1 seed for the Class 2A Southern League playoffs.

Diamond tripled and drove in three runs in the second game for the Mustangs.
