ROUNDUP: Chaparral rallies for baseball win over Desert Oasis

Joel Benavides went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, including a tiebreaking two-run single in the fourth inning Saturday, to lift Chaparral’s baseball team to an 11-8 win over visiting Desert Oasis.

Benavides’ hit capped a four-run fourth that allowed the Cowboys to erase a 7-5 deficit.

Ricky Perez was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple, and Raul Jimenez went 2-for-3 with a double for Chaparral.

Dylan Krasn was 2-for-4 with a home run and Mike Matarty 2-for-4 with a double for the Diamondbacks.

Silverado 15, Shadow Ridge 6 — At Shadow Ridge, Drew Robinson was 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, five RBIs and three runs to help the Skyhawks down the Mustangs.

Braden Keathley went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs for Silverado.

Troy Williams was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs for the Mustangs. Teammate Colt Stout was 1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs.

Sierra Vista 15, Cimarron-Memorial 5 — At Cimarron, Brooks Klein was 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs to lead the Mountain Lions in a rout of the Spartans.

Matt Holman went 4-for-4 with three doubles and an RBI for Sierra Vista. David DeCarlo had a home run, a triple and three RBIs, and

Scotty Tomassetti homered for the Mountain Lions, who used a nine-run third inning to open a 9-2 lead.

Brad Oswald went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double for Cimarron, which got two RBIs apiece from Kody Gorden and A.J. Hernandez. Gorden homered for the Spartans.

Legacy 13, Parowan (Utah) 3 — At Legacy, Andres Ortiz went 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple and three RBIs to lead the Longhorns past Parowan.

Jason Henderson was 3-for-3 with four RBIs for Legacy, which ended the game with a seven-run fifth inning.

Liberty 16, Canyon View (Utah) 6 — At Liberty, Manuel Menocal went 4-for-4 with two doubles and six RBIs as the Patriots scored at least twice in all five innings in a rout of Canyon View.

Anthony Rush was 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and three RBIs for Liberty. Teammate Seth Wieman went 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Palo Verde 19, Durango 3 — At Durango, Alex Bonczyk went 2-for-3 with a grand slam, a triple and six RBIs as the Panthers routed the Trailblazers.

Parowan (Utah) 20, Western 5 — At Western, Parowan broke open the game by scoring 13 runs in the sixth inning.

Lake Mead 10, Virginia City 7 — At Mountain View, Josh Bratton was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBIs to lead the Eagles over the Muckers in the consolation game of the Mountain View Spring Slam.

Henderson International 19, Mountain View 7 — At Mountain View, Keenan Gladd-Brown went 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple and four RBIs to help the Wolverines down the Saints for fifth place in the Spring Slam.

Carlin 7, Lake Mead 3 — At Mountain View, Chris Hyatt hit two doubles to lead the Railroaders over the Eagles.

Zach Mullins hit a solo homer for Lake Mead.

Battle Mountain 11, Henderson International 1 — At Mountain View, Randy Verbeck went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs to lead the Longhorns over the Wolverines.
