ROUNDUP: Chaparral rallies past Wolves on key error

Chaparral pinch runner Tad Pushard scored from second base on a fielding error with one out in the top of the seventh inning to break a 5-5 tie and lift the Cowboys to a 6-5 road win over Basic in the Bengal-Aggie Classic on Friday.

Eduardo Jimenez went 2-for-3 for Chaparral, which took a 5-1 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning.

Tyler Long’s two-run single capped the Wolves’ four-run rally in the sixth. Long was 2-for-4 for Basic.

Rancho 5, Maple Mountain (Utah) 4 — At St. George, Utah, Keifer McLendon hit a triple, scored the game-tying run, and earned the win in relief as the Rams outlasted the Golden Eagles at the Desert Hills Classic.

After McClendon scored the tying run in the bottom of the seventh, Bryce Harrell was hit by a pitch to force home the winning run.

Foothill 8, Westlake (Utah) 3 — At St. George, Utah, Tyler Van Stone went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Falcons by Westlake in six innings in the Little Caesar’s Classic.

Anthony Lopez tossed a one-hitter, allowing only a first-inning home run after four Foothill errors, and struck out six.

Foothill 12, Herriman (Utah) 4 — At St. George, Utah, Bligh Madris went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead a 14-hit attack as the Falcons topped Herriman in the Little Caesar’s Classic.

Van Stone, Lopez, Collin Dobrolecki, Royce Salay and Nick Cardinale each added two hits for Foothill, which broke a 2-2 tie with seven runs in the third inning.

Cimarron-Memorial 14, Herriman (Utah) 4 — At St. George, Utah, Ricky Dorantes went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and four RBIs to lead the Spartans to the win in the Little Caesar’s Classic.

Tanner McAninch added a home run and three RBIs, and Niko Decolati, Jayson Hicks and Josh Nuernberg each added two hits for Cimarron.

Canyon View (Utah) 4, Basic 1 — At Basic, Ryan Weldon took a no-hitter into the sixth, but the Falcons downed Basic.

Keaton Kringlen’s two-run single led to a four-run inning in the sixth for Canyon View.

Lake Havasu (Ariz.) 4, Boulder City 0 — At Mohave Valley, Ariz., the Eagles managed just three hits in the loss at the Route 66 Tournament.

Bill Barth was 2-for-3 with a double for the Eagles.

Boulder City 10, Spring Creek 9 — At Mohave Valley, Tanner Howell was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and four RBIs, and the Eagles scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth to pull out the win.

Barth was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and got the win in relief for Boulder City.
