ROUNDUP: Compehos delivers for Desert Oasis in win over Bulldogs

Jordyn Compehos tossed a five-hit shutout, striking out seven and walking one, and went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs Monday to help Desert Oasis’ baseball team to a 2-0 win at Centennial in the Lions Kickoff Tournament.

Cody Schmidt was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles for the Diamondbacks.

Desert Oasis 3, Sierra Vista 2 — At Centennial, A.J. Landis tossed a two-hitter and allowed a pair of unearned runs as the Diamondbacks nipped the Mountain Lions in the Lions Kickoff Tournament.

Landis walked three and struck out two.

Compehos was 3-for-4 with a triple and a double for Desert Oasis, which got a one-out, two-run single from Alex Tafesh in the top of the first inning.

Durango 9, Eldorado 6 — At Durango, Brett Neighbors struck out 15 in 5 2/3 innings of work and went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Trailblazers by the Sundevils in the Lions Kickoff Tournament.

Anthony Parry was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs for Durango.

Brandon Gallegos was 2-for-4 with a triple and a double for Eldorado.

Green Valley 17, Eldorado 2 —
At Durango, Ty Burger went 4-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and the Gators took advantage of seven walks and six hit batsmen to rout the Sundevils in five innings in the Lions Kickoff Tournament.

Jarod Penniman went 1-for-1 with a double, three runs and two RBIs, and Bradon Rogers was 1-for-1 with a triple, three runs and an RBI for Green Valley.

Troy Cropper was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for the Gators.

Shadow Ridge 4, Silverado 0 —
At Silverado, Logan Hold tossed a two-hitter and struck out eight to lead the Mustangs by the Skyhawks in the Bengal-Aggie Classic.

Brady Hoskins was 1-for-3 with a two-run home run for the Mustangs. Alec Pittsenbarger was 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, and Travis Caskie went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Shadow Ridge.

Arbor View 11, Chaparral 1 — At Arbor View, Ryan Chen went 2-for-2 with a triple, three runs and three RBIs to help the Aggies rout the Cowboys in five innings in the Bengal-Aggie Classic.

Nate Stepna was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and three steals, and Brandon LaPointe went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI for Arbor View, which had four pitchers combine on a two-hitter.

Faith Lutheran 7, Western 2 —
At Western, Andrew Hudgins was 4-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBIs, and the Crusaders did all of their scoring in the final three innings to top the Warriors in the Bengal-Aggie Classic.

Eric Uelmen was 4-for-5 for Faith Lutheran.

Javier Ruiz went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Western.

Coronado 11, Spring Valley 1 — At Coronado, Chandler Blanchard and Blake White combined on a five-inning two-hitter as the Cougars topped the Grizzlies in the Bengal-Aggie Classic.

Cain Brady had a double and three RBIs, and Julian Burrola added a double and two RBIs for Coronado, which took advantage of six walks and six hit batsmen.

Taylor Robison was 2-for-2 with a double for Spring Valley.

Basic 20, Mojave 4 —
 At Basic, Hunter Robinson was 2-for-2 with two doubles and three RBIs as the Wolves blitzed the Rattlers in five innings in the Bengal-Aggie Classic.

Josh McLean went 3-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, and Isaac Perez and Anthony Lee each went 2-for-4 for Basic.

Legacy 15, Canyon Springs 4 —
At Legacy, Luke Baumgarte went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and scored three runs as the Longhorns defeated the Pioneers in five innings.

Kyle Peeler went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Legacy.

Sunrise Mountain 11, Valley 5 —
At Valley, Brandon Medeiros went 3-for-5 with an RBI and scored a run for the Miners in a victory over Valley.

Nick Schellenger went 4-for-4 with two RBIs for the Vikings, who committed 10 errors.

Clark 6, Tech 1 — At Clark, Wyatt Blackwell tossed a five-hitter and struck out seven as the Chargers defeated the Roadrunners.

Lake Mead 19, Spring Mountain 1 — At Lake Mead, Julien Korastinsky struck out seven in five innings to help the Eagles top the Golden Eagles.
