Roundup: Desert Oasis beats Gorman in 10 innings

Jason Sharman singled hom Zac Czerniawski with two outs in the top of the 10th to give the Desert Oasis baseball team a 7-6 road win over Bishop Gorman on Thursday.

Czerniawski singled one out later, and Jordan DeMarce walked to bring up Sharman, who singled to left to bring home the go-ahead run as the Diamondbakcs earned the three-game sweep.

The win clinched the Southwest League’s No. 1 playoff seed for the Diamondbacks.

Chaison Miklich pitched 4⅓ scoreless innings of relief to get the win. He allowed five hits, struck out four and walked one.

The Gaels led 6-5 going to the seventh inning, but Aaron Roberts hit a solo homer to tie the game and force extra innings.

Roberts was 4-for-5 with a double and the homer, and Czerniawski went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for Desert Oasis.

Miklich went 2-for-5 with a double, and Sharman went 2-for-6.

John Gaughan went 2-for-6 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Gaels. Ryan Sepede was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, and Dutch Landis was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Gorman.

Rancho 5, Foothill 4 — At Foothill, Anthony Guzman singled home Edarian Williams in the top of the ninth to give the Rams the win over the Falcons.

Williams doubled with one out and scored on Guzman’s liner to center.

Jimmy Gamboa pitched four hitless innings of relief with five strikeouts to get the win.

Williams was 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI, and Joey Walls went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run for Rancho, which rallied for three runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to tie the game.

Jake Perales was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for the Falcons.

Spring Valley 4, Sierra Vista 3 — At Spring Valley, Donovan Souder walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh to give the Grizzlies the win over the Mountain Lions.

Kade Higgins walked to start the inning, and after a sacrifice, a pair of intentional walks loaded the bases for Souder.

Sierra Vista led 3-2 going to the bottom of the sixth, but Kevyn Fernandez hit a solo home run to tie it for the Grizzlies.

Fernandez was 2-for-2, and Higgins drove in two runs for Spring Valley.

Alex Chavira was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for the Mountain Lions.

Durango 4, Clark 2 — At Durango, Justin Lucas supplied an RBI double and a solo home run to help lift the Trailblazers over the Chargers.

Renae Lara had two hits, and Jason Salazar added an RBI triple for Durango. Tyler Donohue earned the win, and Daniel Hauben tossed one inning of scoreless relief to earn the save for the Trailblazers.

Dylan King had three hits, and Maverick Blodgett supplied two hit to lead Clark.

Pahrump Valley 9, Cheyenne 8 — At Pahrump, Chase McDaniel’s two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted the Trojans past the Desert Shields.

Joey Koenig went 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run, and Bradda Costa doubled and scored three times for the Trojans.

Angel Astorga had two doubles and three RBIs to lead the Desert Shields. Lonnie Rose doubled and drove in a run, and Corry Baluyut doubled and scored three runs for Cheyenne.

Basic 8, Silverado 1 — At Basic, Jesse Fonteboa was 3-for-3 with a homer, three RBIs and a run as the Wolves toppled the Skyhawks.

Kyle Turner was 3-for-3 with a double, and Christian Rivero had an RBI for Basic.

Caleb Hubbard knocked in Tyler Paasche in the third inning for Silverado’s run.

Green Valley 14, Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Garrett Nelson was 1-for-2 with a homer and three RBIs as the Gators earned a five-inning victory over the Vikings.

Scott Gruber was 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and a run, and Max Leuga went 2-for-2 with a double a run and an RBI for Green Valley.

Aaron Sufana allowed four hits in four scoreless innings to get the win.

Gustavo Donate was 1-for-2 with a double for Valley.

Liberty 13, Canyon Springs 0 — At Liberty, Zanden Shim went 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs to lead the Patriots past the Pioneers in five innings.

Andrew Gallegos, Dylan San Nicolas and Logan Coons each doubled with an RBI. Mason Bowden went 3-for-4 with two runs and two stolen bases for the Patriots.

Ethan O’Neal allowed one hit and struck out five in three innings to get the win.

Desert Pines 11, Mojave 1 — At Desert Pines, Juan Castaneda was 3-for-3 with two doubles, six RBIs and a run as the Jaguars beat the Rattlers in five innings.

Winning pitcher Salvador Becerra was 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs for Desert Pines. He threw a two-hitter and struck out five.

Jorge Milian was 2-for-2 with a run for the Jaguars.

Natanael Sauceda was 2-for-2 with a run for Mojave.

Western 15, Sunrise Mountain 6 — At Sunrise Mountain, Xavier Thomas went 3-for-5 with a double and five RBIs to lead the Warriors past the Miners.

Sebastian Reyes went 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Western, which scored fives runs in the second and fourth innings.

Gonzalo Lopez struck out five over 5⅔ innings to pick up the win.

Brian Ruiz tripled for the Miners.

Coronado 11, Eldorado 1 — At Eldorado, Joey Calvert and Kyle Hall each doubled twice and drove in two runs as the Cougars beat the Sundevils in five innings.

Brayden Buttweiler allowed one unearned run on one hit in four innings with three strikeouts to get the win.

Christian Younger tripled for Eldorado.

Cimarron-Memorial 13, Bonanza 1 — At Cimarron, Derek Decolati went 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs and an RBI as the Spartans beat the Bengals in five innings.

Trevor Doyle was 2-for-2 with four runs and an RBI, and Lasith Narasinghe went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs for Cimarron.

Adelson School 14-20, Mountain View 3-6 — At Mountain View, the Lions used three six-run innings in the nightcap to earn the sweep.

Adelson was helped by 13 walks in the second game.

In the opener, Mordechai Shirit doubled, scored three times and drove in three runs to lead the Lions to the five-inning win.

Harrison Clayton allowed one hit over three scoreless innings with seven strikeouts to get the win.
