Roundup: Gorman rallies to edge Clark

Carson Wells scored on a sacrifice fly by Santino Panaro in the top of the seventh as Bishop Gorman’s baseball team rallied for an 8-7 road win over Clark on Friday.

The Chargers had scored twice in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI groundout by Luke Miles and an RBI single by Maverick Blodgett to tie the game at 7.

Thomas Dilandri went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI for the Gaels, and Austin Wells was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Miles drove in three runs, and Blodgett was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Clark.

Arbor View 6, Sierra Vista 5 — At Arbor View, Austin Pfeifer hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a 4-4 tie, and the Aggies edged the Mountain Lions.

Pfeifer went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Arbor View. He has homered in seven consecutive appearances, and has nine homers in that span.

DeAngelo Smith went 2-for-4 with a run, and Jesse Pierce had two RBIs for Arbor View. Pierce also came in to record the final out with the tying run at second to get the save.

Daymien Yohner was 3-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBIs for Sierra Vista.

Desert Oasis 10, Spring Valley 5 — At Desert Oasis, Jason Sharman had five RBIs in the fifth inning as the Diamondbacks topped the Grizzlies.

Sharman’s two-run homer broke a 1-1 tie, and he later added a three-run double as Desert Oasis scored nine times in the fifth.

Sharman finished 3-for-4, and winning pitcher Izzy Gutierrez was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Diamondbacks. Gutierrez allowed one earned run and struck out six in five innings.

Chaison Miklich went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Desert Oasis.

Donovan Souder was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Mitchell Otis was 2-for-4 with one RBI for Spring Valley. Braxton Bruschke added two hits, including a double, for the Grizzlies.

Basic 5, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas High, Nick Thompson tossed a six-hitter as the Wolves beat the Wildcats.

Jesse Fonteboa, Trace Evans and Logan Spaur each doubled for the Wolves, who scored three in the sixth to pull away.

Kevin Verduzco hit a double for Las Vegas.

Rancho 10, Silverado 0 — At Silverado, Jimmy Gamboa fired six shutout innings and went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs as the Rams beat the Skyhawks.

Gamboa allowed two hits and struck out six with no walks.

Edarian Williams went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and three RBIs, and Kagen Kennedy was 3-for-5 with a run for Rancho.

Carlos Hernandez, Chayse Baker and Matthew Baughn each added two hits, and Joey Walls drove in two runs for the Rams.

Tech 11, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Tech, Sean Jones pitched a five-inning complete game with eight strikeouts and hit a double as the Roadrunners took down the Miners.

Gabe Kermode was 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs for the Roadrunners, and teammate Jose Leon hit a double.

Brian Ruiz doubled for the Miners.

Foothill 16, Valley 2 — At Valley, Tommy Dirk and Andrew Hauck each went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to help the Falcons to the five-inning victory over the Vikings.

Chayse Parenteau drove in four runs, and Jake Perales was 2-for-3 with four runs for Foothill, which scored seven runs in the top of the fifth.

Gustavo Donate and Leeland Crawford each went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Valley.

Eldorado 11, Canyon Springs 6 — At Canyon Springs, Christian Younger was 4-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and two runs to lead the Sundevils past the Pioneers.

Derrik Buck was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and winning pitcher Aaron Rogers went 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs for Eldorado.

Julio Rodarte added two hits and two runs for the Sundevils.

Bryan Hernandez was 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI for Canyon Springs, and teammate Christian Cervantes doubled and drove in three runs.

Lake Mead 16-17, Mountian View 1-0 — At Mountain View, Dominic Desch went 6-for-7 with two doubles, seven runs and nine RBIs to help the Eagles sweep the Saints.

Desch was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and four runs in a four-inning win in the second game. Joseph Johnson fired a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts and no walks and also went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run.

Logan Sullivan was 4-for-4 for Lake Mead in the nightcap.

In the opener, Desch was 3-for-3 with a double, six RBIs and three runs as the Eagles cruised to the three-inning win.

Nolan Hairr was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs, and Ryan Kennedy went 2-for-2 with a triple, three runs and an RBI.

Bryan White pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts to get the win.

Needles 15-19, The Meadows 5-7 — At The Meadows, Ezrah Ponce went 6-for-9 with two doubles, two triples and seven RBIs as Needles swept a doubleheader.

Ponce was 3-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, three runs and three RBIs in the nightcap, and teammate Josiah Kidd was 3-for-4 with four runs and an RBI.

Jerry Appelhans and Justin Tanaka each went 2-for-4 for The Meadows.

In the opener, Ponce was 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs to lead Needles, and Kidd went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs.

Brett Lieuallen was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs for The Meadows.

Lincoln County 12-11, Calvary Chapel 0-1 — At Panaca, Alex Vincent went a combined 4-for-8 with two doubles to help the Lynx sweep a doubleheader against the Lions.

Dean Ottley went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Lincoln County in the first game, and Mason Thornock went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in the second game.

Spring Mountain 14-15, Tonopah 4-5 — At Mountain Ridge Park, Nicholas Bond was 4-for-4 with three doubles and five RBIs in the nightcap as the Golden Eagles swept the Muckers.

In the opener, Patrick Smith drove in four runs as the Golden Eagles earned the five-inning win.

Carlos Guerrero went 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBIs for the Muckers.

Pahranagat Valley 16-15, Sandy Valley 1-0 — At Alamo, Garett Higbee went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, six runs and six RBIs to lead the Panthers to the doubleheader sweep.

In the opener, Garett Higbee went 2-for-2 with a double, three runs and two RBIs, and winning Preston Higbee was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs in a three-inning win.

In the second game, Garett Higbee homered, doubled and drove in four runs. Duston Stewart was 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, two runs and two RBIs, and Jesse Jones went 2-for-2 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs for the Panthers.

Winning pitcher Stockton Maxwell was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI, and pitched a four-inning two-hitter. He struck out eight with one walk.
