ROUNDUP: Guzman, Warriors charge past Clark

Matt Guzman went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs on Monday to help Western’s baseball team to a 14-11 win at Clark.

Dylan Williams went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles for the Warriors, and teammate Tyler Rymer was 2-for-5 with three RBIs.

Clark’s Greg McKinney was 3-for-5 with two home runs — including a grand slam — and five RBIs.

Sierra Vista 14, Bonanza 10 — At Bonanza, Nick Kingham was 3-for-5 with two home runs, a double and six RBIs as the Mountain Lions outlasted the Bengals.

Marcus Towers went 4-for-6 with four stolen bases and five runs for Sierra Vista.

Kris Bryant was 2-for-3 with a pair of homers and three RBIs for Bonanza. Sterling Sprau went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Bengals.

Spring Valley 12, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Aaron Blair was 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs to power the Grizzlies to a five-inning win over the Trojans.

Tyler Kartler went 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs, and Drew LaComb and Josh Schuster each added two hits for Spring Valley.

Robby Brewster hit 1-for-3 with three RBIs for the Grizzlies.

Aaron Pike was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Pahrump.

Bishop Gorman 15, Desert Oasis 1 — At Gorman, Johnny Field homered twice and finished 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs as the Gaels routed the Diamondbacks in five innings.

Joey Gallo was 4-for-4 with a triple, a home three RBIs and two runs for Gorman.

T.J. White tripled, homered and finished 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs, and Mikal Hunter went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and one RBI for the Gaels.

Cimarron-Memorial 16, Cheyenne 2 — At Cheyenne, Steven Lindsey was 2-for-4 with two runs and four RBIs, and Tanner McAninch went 3-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs as the Spartans cruised past the Desert Shields.

Nathan Hale and Bo Tampke each added two hits for Cimarron.

Legacy 9, Faith Lutheran 3 — At Faith Lutheran, Donald Glover went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and three runs scored to lead the Longhorns past the Crusaders.

Adam Thompson was 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, two runs and an RBI for Legacy.

Devin Chavez had two hits for the Crusaders.

Palo Verde 24, Mojave 5 — At Mojave, Matt Hutchings hit a grand slam in the first inning and the Panthers cruised to victory over the Rattlers in five innings.

Hutchings also doubled and finished 4-for-4 with six RBIs and three runs scored. 

Eldorado 10, Desert Pines 9 — At Desert Pines, Alan Guerrero was 3-for-5 with a pair of triples and five RBIs as the Sundevils built a 9-3 third-inning lead and held off the Jaguars.

Chris Brown went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs for the Sundevils. Eric Larsen was 2-for-4 with three runs, and Sammy Gonzales and Lucio Arreola added two hits apiece for Eldorado.

Roberto Hernandez had two doubles and scored two runs for Desert Pines.

Rancho 15, Canyon Springs 1 — At Canyon Springs, Josh Gomez hit a grand slam and Roy Sipes added a two-run homer in Rancho’s seven-run first inning as the Rams blitzed the Pioneers in five innings.

Gomez was 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs. Zak Qualls went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and two runs scored, and Eric Holdren went 2-for-3 with a solo shot for the Rams.

Brandon Pletsch and Scott Koenen combined to throw a one-hitter.

Las Vegas 20, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Sunrise Mountain, Tanner Chauncey went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and five runs scored as the Wildcats routed the Miners in five innings.

Brig Jensen was 4-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs, and Robert Melendrez was 4-for-4 with a double for Las Vegas.

Valley 10, Chaparral 4 — At Chaparral, winning pitcher Hansel Escamilla was 3-for-4 with two triples and three runs to help the Vikings top the Cowboys.

Eric Herring went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Hector Robles was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Vikings.

Ricky Perez went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Cowboys.

Virgin Valley 6, Parowan (Utah) 3 — At Parowan, winning pitcher Tanner Tichenor went 2-for-3 with one run scored to lead the Bulldogs past the Rams.

Victor Ruvalcaba was 2-for-4 with one run for Virgin Valley. 

Lake Mead 18, Indian Springs 15 — At Lake Mead, Alex Uceda smashed a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 14-14 tie, and the Eagles held on for the win over Thunderbirds.

Uceda added two doubles and finished 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored, and Spencer Kowis went 2-for-4 with four runs for Lake Mead.

Xavier Pena doubled and homered, finishing 4-for-6 with six RBIs and four runs scored for Indian Springs.
