ROUNDUP: Johnson, Skyhawks bring out bats in sixth to ground Falcons

Bobby Johnson was 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs on Tuesday to lead Silverado’s baseball team to an 8-3 home win over Foothill.

The Skyhawks scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie.

Drew Robinson drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in the go-ahead run, and Johnson followed with a two-run single. A.J. Ford added an RBI single for the final margin.

Robinson also belted a two-run homer for Silverado.

Kris Soto was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Foothill.

Desert Pines 4, Sunrise Mountain 3 — At Desert Pines, Adam Leclere tripled and scored on Joey Guevara’s groundout in the bottom of the fifth to break a 3-3 tie and lift the Jaguars past the Miners.

Jonathan Rodarte had two hits, including a double, and picked up the win in relief for Desert Pines.

Chaparral 14, Canyon Springs 4 — At Canyon Springs, Raul Jiminez hit for the cycle, going 5-for-5 with two homers and four RBIs, to lead the Cowboys to a six-inning win over the Pioneers.

Elliott Aleman and Ciros Burdier each hit a double for Chaparral.

Shaun Dungey homered for Canyon Springs.

Basic 12, Tech 9 — At Basic, Matt Dembinski went 3-for-4 with a double as the Wolves grabbed a 9-0 lead in the second inning and held off the Roadrunners.

Marty Christensen was 2-for-4 with a triple for Basic.

Sam Rodriguez and Justin Vasquez each batted 2-for-5 for Tech.

Green Valley 10, Liberty 1 — At Liberty, Cameron Harper tossed a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and added a double at the plate to lead the Gators to an easy win over the Patriots.

Brett Harrison was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, three RBIs and three runs, and Bobby Shiroky batted 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Green Valley.

Rudy Strnad hit 3-for-5 with three runs for the Gators.

Coronado 14, Del Sol 1 — At Coronado, Kenny Oakley pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts as the Cougars routed the Dragons in five innings.

Ryan Donahue tripled and drove in four runs for Coronado. Miles Bice also tripled, and Taylor Giordano, Matt Hall and Steven Pollex added a double apiece for the Cougars.

Valley 15, Eldorado 10 — At Eldorado, Marcus Mejia went 3-for-5 with a triple, a double and three RBIs to help the Vikings build a 13-4 fifth-inning lead and hold off the Sundevils.

Eric Herring was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBIs, and Richie Sandoval went 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs for Valley.

Alan Guerrero led Eldorado, hitting 3-for-3 with a double, two runs and three RBIs.

Reno 5, Durango 3 — At Durango, Pat Gallagher’s two-run homer in the top of the fourth inning broke a 3-3 tie and lifted the Huskies past the Trailblazers.

Andrew Giatti went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and teammate Ricky Gonzalez was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles for Durango.

The Meadows 7, Henderson International 3 — At Henderson International, Garrett Gosse was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and the

Mustangs scored the game’s final five runs to defeat the Wolverines.

Colin Johnson went 2-for-3 for the Wolverines.

Laughlin 13-17, Mountain View 0-0 — At Mountain View, Christian Kruse went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double and four RBIs in the opener, and Tyler Morrison was 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and three RBIs in the nightcap to help the Cougars sweep the Saints.

Laughlin’s Jorgen Davidson pitched a five-inning one-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the opener, when he also went 2-for-3 with a double.

Andre Prosise tossed a five-inning two-hitter with seven strikeouts in the second game.

Beatty 11-15, Big Pine (Calif.) 9-5 — At Beatty, Shayne Boots hit a combined 4-for-6 with a triple, two doubles and five RBIs to help the Hornets to the sweep.

Anthony Regalado was 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs for Beatty.

Lake Mead 22, Trinity 4 — At Rivera Field, Alex Uceda went 3-for-5 with a double to lead the Eagles past the Thunder in five innings.

Trinity’s pitchers combined to hit seven batters, with nine walks.
