Roundup: Liberty knocks off No. 1 Rancho

Joseph Rush and Andrew Gallegos each had two RBIs Thursday to lead Liberty’s baseball team to a 9-3 home upset of top-ranked Rancho.
Ethan Safier allowed three runs and struck out six over six innings to pick up the win.
Logan Coons went 3-for-3 with a double and a triple, and Tyler Williamson doubled and drove in a run for the Patriots.
Carlos Hernandez doubled and drove in a run for the Rams, and teammate Anthony Guzman doubled.
Western 5, Sunrise Mountain 4 — At Western, Adrian Oles threw six strong innings, and Sebastian Reyes locked down the save to preserve the Warriors’ win over the Miners.
Oles struck out six and allowed three runs (two earned), four hits and two walks. He also scored two runs. Reyes struck out two and allowed an unearned run.
Brian Ruiz struck out 10 over 5⅔ innings for the Miners, and teammate Angel Mora had a double and two RBIs.
Bonanza 11, Spring Valley 10 — At Spring Valley, Ryan Webster tripled, drove in two runs and scored a run as the Bengals defeated the Grizzlies.
Matthew Cox tripled and scored two runs for the Bengals, who scored five runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Jonathan Bakken doubled and drove in a run, and Kevyn Fernandez tripled and drove in two runs for the Grizzlies.
Mojave 9, Desert Pines 7 — At Mojave, the Rattlers scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to knock off the Jaguars.
Kevin Gutierrez went 3-for-4 with three runs to lead Mojave. Mike Cianci went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Rudy Fernandez was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI for the Rattlers.
Cianci came on to strike out the final batter with runners at the corners to earn a save.
Juan Castaneda tripled, scored twice and drove in two runs to lead Desert Pines. Salvador Becerra was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Jaguars.
Arbor View 18, Shadow Ridge 5 — At Shadow Ridge, Austin Pfeifer had two homers, a triple, five RBIs and four runs to power the Aggies over the Mustangs.
Jesse Pierce had three doubles, four RBIs and three runs for the Aggies. Bradley Stone had a triple and a double, and Tyler Whitaker had a triple, three RBIs and three runs for Arbor View.
Arbor View’s Trey Urban had a triple, and Niles Scafati had a double. The Aggies scored 10 runs in the sixth inning.
Brandon Tressler had two doubles for the Mustangs, and teammate Ashton Caniglia had a double.
Coronado 6, Las Vegas 4 — At Coronado, Christian Herrera belted a two-run double to highlight a five-run fifth inning as the Cougars nipped the Wildcats.
Taylor Darden and Boston Mabeus each supplied two hits for Coronado, which got the win in relief from Joey Calvert.
Trevor Johnson was 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI to lead Las Vegas.
Sierra Vista 19, Clark 9 — At Sierra Vista, Cooper Kitrel homered and scored four times to lead the Mountain Lions over the Chargers.
Clark scored five runs to tie it in the top of the sixth, but the Mountain Lions scored 10 in the bottom half to put it away.
Ramon Benitez had two doubles for the Mountain Lions, and teammate Keanu Kinney-Jorge drove in four.
Julio Hernandez had a double and two RBIs for Clark.
Silverado 18, Canyon Springs 7 — At Canyon Springs, Caleb Hubbard was 5-for-6 with three runs and three RBIs, and Nikolas Cortez supplied two hits and three RBIs as the Skyhawks downed the Pioneers.
Jarod Hill had three hits and three runs, and teammates Chris Cortez and Andrew Maxwell each added two hits for Silverado.
Tevor Berkemeyer went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, and Gavin Rhynes had two hits and two RBIs to lead Canyon Springs.
Pahrump Valley 15, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, winning pitcher Dylan Grossell was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs as the Trojans beat the Desert Shields in five innings.
Brian Horton doubled, and Ian McRae was 3-for-3 for Pahrump.
Angel Astorga was 2-for-3 for Cheyenne.
Bishop Gorman 15, Durango 0 — At Gorman, Carson Wells was 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs as the Gaels ran away from the Trailblazers in three innings.
Ryan Sepede tripled and knocked in three runs for the Gaels, and teammate John Gaughan doubled.
Gorman’s Christian Lamar had three RBIs.
Basic 20, Eldorado 0 — At Basic, Brendan Thorpe was 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and six RBIs as the Wolves pounded the Sundevils in three innings.
Jesse Fonteboa belted a grand slam, and Kyle Turner went 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and three runs for Basic. John Howard Bobo threw two innings to earn the win and combined with Trace Evans on a no-hitter.
Desert Oasis JV 4, SLAM Academy 2 — At Arroyo Grande Park, the Diamondbacks’ junior varsity team broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the top of the seventh inning and held off the Bulls.
Daemein Hargrove had two hits for SLAM.
