ROUNDUP: McCary plates Palmer as Wildcats edge Bulldogs

Brandon McCary’s sixth-inning sacrifice fly plated Xavier Palmer with the go-ahead run Friday as Las Vegas High’s baseball team closed its regular season with an 8-5 win at Centennial.
Palmer walked to start the inning, stole second and moved to third on Tim Daniels’ groundout before McCary’s fly ball broke a 5-5 tie.
Andrew Manfra was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs, and Quinnton Mack and Robert Melendrez each added two hits and scored twice for the Wildcats.
Anthony Antos went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run for the Bulldogs.
Cheyenne 14, Eldorado 13 — At Eldorado, Marquise Hall went 3-for-4 with a pair of triples, a double and two RBIs to help the Desert Shields build a 14-4 lead and hold on to down the Sundevils.
Jesus Gonzalez was 2-for-4 with a double for Cheyenne.
Alan Guerrero was 2-for-3 with a triple for Eldorado, which scored eight runs in the fifth inning.
Legacy 7, Durango 0 — At Durango, sophomore Brayden Torres pitched six scoreless innings, allowing only a bunt single, to lead the Longhorns past the Trailblazers.
Torres retired the first 17 batters he faced before Matt Grisnik’s bunt single with two outs in the sixth.
Freshman Brad Blackham came on to pitch a scoreless seventh, only allowing an infield single.
Alex Wenzel was 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Adam Thmpson and Donald Glover each went 2-for-3 for Legacy. Glover doubled twice, and Thompson added a double and two runs.
Clark 26, Chaparral 7 — At Chaparral, Greg McKinney went 5-for-6 with a double, a home run and five RBIs to lead the Chargers past the Cowboys in six innings.
Mike Quiroz also went 5-for-6 with five RBIs for Clark, and teammate Jeremy Irlan was 2-for-3 with a double.
Virgin Valley 10-14, Boulder City 2-2 — At Boulder City, the Bulldogs cruised to a doubleheader sweep of the Eagles.
Jason Wittwer went 4-for-9 with two home runs and four RBIs on the day to lead Virgin Valley.
Zach Horlacher was 2-for-4 with a double to help the Bulldogs win the second game in five innings.
Calvary Chapel 29-8, Mountain View 0-7 — At Mountain View, Hunter Rodriguez tossed a five-inning no-hitter in the opener as the Lions swept the Saints.
The Lions scored eight runs in the first inning and 14 more in the second to put the opener away. Steven Shigley hit two triples in the first game for Calvary Chapel.
In the nightcap, which was called after four innings due to darkness, the Lions broke a 7-7 tie with a run in the top of the fourth inning.
White Pine 4-10, West Wendover 9-9 — At White Pine, the Wolverines and the Bobcats split a doubleheader.
Ivan Lara was 2-for-3 with a double to lead West Wendover to a first-game victory.
Cody Britton and Sajel Gale each went 3-for-3 to help White Pine win the second game.
Lincoln County 22-32, Agassi Prep 3-0 — At Doolittle Field, the Lynx rolled to a pair of wins in the doubleheader.
Pahranagat Valley 14-4, Lake Mead 10-1 — At Lake Mead, the Panthers picked up to two road victories over the Eagles.
Kale Leavitt went 3-for-5 with a double to lead Pahranagat Valley in the first game, and teammate Kade Wadsworth allowed four hits to earn the win in the second game.
Tonopah 7-12, Beatty 11-2 — At Tonopah, Emitt Davis tossed a three-hitter in the second game, striking out five, as the Muckers gained a split with Beatty.
In the opener, Beatty took advantage of 10 errors by the Muckers, and used an eight-run sixth inning to pick up the win.
Tonopah’s Reese Jones went 4-for-4 with a triple and a double in the first game.
