ROUNDUP: Neubauer, Rancho shut out Valley in baseball

Justin Neubauer fired a four-hit shutout to lead Rancho to a 2-0 home win over Valley on Tuesday.

Neubauer struck out 11. He also went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the offense.

Brandon Pletsch tripled, and Zak Qualls and Eric Holdren each had a double for Rancho.

Dayan Oses had two doubles for the Vikings.

Durango 5, Pahrump Valley 3 — At Pahrump, Billy Richardson and Danny Reynolds combined on a four-hitter as the Trailblazers held off the Trojans.

Richardson allowed three unearned runs on four hits in six innings. He struck out nine.

Reynolds came on in the seventh and struck out the side to earn a save.

Canyon Springs 17, Desert Pines 14 — At Desert Pines, Shaun Dungey was 2-for-4 with three runs, and the Pioneers took advantage of 11 errors to edge the Jaguars for their first win.

Gerardo Cruz went 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs for Desert Pines, which rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh but couldn’t close the gap.

James Young was 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and three runs for the Jaguars.

Las Vegas 10, Eldorado 4 — At Las Vegas, Bryce Harper was 3-for-3 with a double and three runs in the Wildcats’ win over the Sundevils.

Brig Jensen added two doubles for Las Vegas, which scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Sierra Vista 10, Desert Oasis 0 — At Sierra Vista, Brooks Klein hit a two-run homer in the first inning to help the Mountain Lions to the five-inning win over the Diamondbacks.

Sierra Vista’s Tommy Barnes was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Bonanza 16, Western 0 — At Bonanza, Heriberto Orozco tossed a one-hitter and went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Bengals to a rout of the Warriors.

Orozco surrendered a single to the second batter of the game. He walked four and struck out six.

Hunter Davidson was 4-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs for Bonanza, and Kris Bryant went 2-for-2 with a home run, a triple and four RBIs.

Clark 7, Chaparral 4 — At Clark, Travis Pullen was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Chargers over the Cowboys.

Clark’s Mike Quiroz was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Carlos Becerra was 3-for-4 with a double.

Winning pitcher Manny Estrada went the distance and struck out nine.

Boulder City 12, Cheyenne 2 — At Boulder City, the Eagles used three home runs to power past the Desert Shields.

Nate Hafen, Ross LaMarca and Kyle Dimpel each had a home run and three RBIs for Boulder City.

Brandon Duhon was 2-for-2 with a run to lead Cheyenne.

Arbor View 10, Faith Lutheran 4 — At Arbor View, Kyle Ford was 2-for-3 with a double and a home run to lead the Aggies over the Crusaders.

Jacob Badger was 3-for-4 with a double for Arbor View, which scored six runs in the first.

Faith Lutheran’s Christian Lopez was 2-for-3 with a double.

Lake Mead 18, Spring Mountain 9 — At Lake Mead, Josh Bratton drove in four runs with two doubles, and D.J. Johnson had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs to help the Eagles beat Spring Mountain.

Winning pitcher Junior Mora had a double for Lake Mead.

Calvary Chapel 11-13, Sandy Valley 0-1 — At Paul Meyer Park, Colby Sibley tossed a five-inning no-hitter with one walk and 14 strikeouts in the opener as the Lions swept the Sidewinders.
 

Steven Shigley was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs for Calvary Chapel. Hunter Rodriguez and Evan Cooney had three hits each, and Luke Bilbao drove in two runs.

In the second game, Cooney and Rodriguez had two hits each.
