ROUNDUP: Rowley lifts Rattlers over Desert Shields

David Rowley’s double to right-center field scored Cory Tobin from first base in the top of the eighth inning Tuesday to give Mojave’s baseball team an 8-7 win over Cheyenne in the Desert Pines Tournament.

Rowley finished 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs. He also went the distance, allowing three earned runs and striking out nine to get the win.

Lamon Harvey was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and three stolen bases for Cheyenne.

Mojave 12, Sunrise Mountain 6 —
At Desert Pines, Rowley was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI to help the Rattlers over the Miners in six innings at the Desert Pines Tournament.

Tyson Goodrich gave up two earned runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings to get the win.

Chaparral 15, Desert Pines 6 — At Desert Pines, Mark Nick O’Connor was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and four RBIs to help the Cowboys beat the Jaguars in the Desert Pines Tournament.

O’Connor also picked up the win, giving up three earned runs and striking out 10 in five innings.

Eduardo Jimenez was 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs, and Luis Giro went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs for Chaparral.

Sunrise Mountain 8, Canyon Springs 4 — At Desert Pines, Frankie Apodaca was 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs and an RBI to lead the Miners over the Pioneers in the Desert Pines Tournament.

Saul Blanco was 2-for-2 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs for Sunrise Mountain.

Spring Valley 10, Western 0 —
At Spring Valley, Logan Mace threw a two-hitter to lead the Grizzlies to the five-inning win in the Grizzly-Bengal Spring Break Invitational.

Mace struck out nine and walked one.

Dylan Drachler was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Michael Macove went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Spring Valley. Taylor Robison was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Grizzlies.

Bonanza 13, Legacy 2 —
At Bonanza, Chris Roberts and Brett Doyle each went 2-for-2 with a double to help the Bengals to the five-inning win over the Longhorns in the Grizzly-Bengal Spring Break Invitational.

Roberts drove in four runs, and Doyle scored twice for Bonanza, which plated six runs in the second to take control.

Adam Merino added a double and two RBIs for the Bengals.

Joey Ingarra was 2-for-3 for Legacy.

Liberty 5, Western 0 — At Spring Valley, Dan Skelly threw five shutout innings, and Josh McCollum was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and an RBI to lead the Patriots over the Warriors in the Grizzly-Bengal Spring Break Invitational.

Jesse Keiser added a double and two RBIs, Chris Bradford was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and James Martz went 2-for-4 for Liberty.

Skelly allowed one hit and struck out five.

Rancho 17, Cholla (Ariz.) 4 —
At Tucson, Ariz., Keifer McLendon had five RBIs in a 10-run first inning, and the Rams routed the Chargers in five innings at the Cherry Field Classic.

McLendon finished 2-for-3, and Andrew Wieger went 3-for-3 with three doubles and two RBIs. David Modler added a triple for Rancho.

Coronado 8, Chaminade (Calif.) 5 — At Escondido, Calif., Mike Maiello went 3-for-4 with a double, a homer, three runs and five RBIs to lead the Cougars to the win in the Lions Tournament.

Jackson Cofer was 2-for-4 with a run, and Chandler Blanchard had a solo homer, walked three times and scored three runs for Coronado.

Boulder City 14, Washington (Calif.) 13 — At Chula Vista, Calif., Tanner Howell was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and the Eagles scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 13-11 lead then held on for the win at the Lions Tournament.

Tino Ragone was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and D.J. Koopman scored three runs and drove in two for Boulder City.

Steele Canyon (Calif.) 8, Silverado 6 — At Spring Valley, Calif., the Cougars scored a run in the bottom of the fifth to break a 6-6 tie en route to the win at the Lions Tournament.

Silverado’s Dillon Johnson was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs, and teammate Dylan Brand went 2-for-4 with a run.

Vincent Taormina hit a solo home run in the first inning for the Skyhawks.

Lone Peak (Utah) 4, Green Valley 3 — At Phoenix, the Gators scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but the rally fell short in the Big League Dugout Invitational.

Cody Millner was 2-for-4 with a double, and Derrick Harmon went 2-for-3 for Green Valley.

Agassi Prep 25, Trinity 1 —
At Agassi Prep, Malik Lockhart went 4-for-4 with a double as the Stars routed the Thunder in five innings.
