ROUNDUP: Ruiz pitches Western by Desert Pines

Javier Ruiz pitched a five-hitter and struck out four Monday to help Western’s baseball team top visiting Desert Pines, 3-1.

Edgar Reyes was 2-for-3 for the Warriors, who scored all of their runs in the first inning.

Jorge Tepetci tossed a five-hitter for the Jaguars.

Eldorado 13, Cheyenne 3 — Seattle Stoneback went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, and the Sundevils scored 10 runs in the sixth to top the Desert Shields in six innings.

Brandon Gallegos was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Eldorado, which had just seven hits.

Austin Green was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Lamon Harvey went 2-for-3 for Cheyenne.

Northridge (Colo.) 9, Durango 6 — At Durango, Kayson Werner went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and five RBIs to lead the Grizzlies by the Trailblazers.

Anthony Parry was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Scott Martinez was 2-for-3 for Durango.
