ROUNDUP: Schmidt, Desert Oasis hold off Silverado in baseball

Cody Schmidt went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs to help Desert Oasis’ baseball team to a 12-10 road victory over Silverado on Saturday.

Dominic Paratore went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, and Jossaiah Raval homered for the Diamondbacks.

Michael Meyers went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, three runs and three RBIs for Silverado, which scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh. Bryan Faucher added a home run for Silverado.

SOFTBALL

Desert Oasis 5, Lake Havasu (Ariz.) 3 — At Kingman, Ariz., Brionna Santovito hit a two-run home run to highlight a four-run first inning, and the Diamondbacks held on for the win at the Coca-Cola Invitational.

Desert Oasis 4, Flagstaff (Ariz.) 3 — At Kingman, Ariz., Shonda Badayos went 2-for-3 with a double and was the winning pitcher to lead the Diamondbacks to a six-inning victory in the Coca-Cola Invitational.

Emily Heinz was 2-for-3 for Desert Oasis, which led 4-0 after three innings.

Vista Grande (Ariz.) 4, Desert Oasis 0 — At Kingman, Ariz., freshman Rachel Clarkson pitched a perfect game as the Spartans blanked the Diamondbacks in the championship game of the Coca-Cola Invitational.
