Roundup: Seventh-inning rally gives Legacy win over Foothill

Aaron Lopez doubled home Steven Tamborello with the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning on Friday as Legacy rallied for a 7-4 road baseball victory over Foothill.

Lopez’s double gave the Longhorns a 5-4 lead. Fabian Torres and Dominic Mercado added RBI singles later in the inning.

Lopez and Mercado each went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for Legacy. Foothill’s Ethan Yatson was 2-for-2 with a run, and Tommy Dirk and Kelton Lachelt each went 2-for-4 for the Falcons.

Bishop Gorman 7, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Gorman, freshmen Tyler Avery and Raf Chiarella combined on a four-hitter as the Gaels shut out the Mustangs.

Avery allowed two hits and two walks with three strikeouts over five innings to get the win. Chiarella gave up two hits and two walks in two scoreless innings of relief.

Freshman Demitri Diamant was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI, and senior Cameron Hougham went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI for Gorman.

Shadow Ridge’s Jax Holzem was 2-for-3 with a double, and Hunter Staley added two singles for the Mustangs.

Arbor View 5, Sierra Vista 1 — At Arbor View, Brad Stone was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs as the Aggies defeated the Mountain Lions.

Steven Giatti doubled, and Jesse Pierce tripled for Arbor View, which scored three times in the first inning.

Brennan Holligan allowed one run on two hits and struck out nine over five innings to earn the win.

Alex Chavira doubled for the Mountain Lions.

Coronado 7, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Coronado, Austin Cates struck out four over four innings to earn the win as the Cougars beat the Trojans.

Cates picked up the win in relief of Brayden Buttweiler, who was perfect through three innings and struck out five batters.

Jett Kenyon doubled, tripled and drove in a run, and Ethan Stephens went 2-for-3 with a RBI for Coronado.

Willie Lucas tripled and scored a run for Pahrump.

Las Vegas 11, Clark 1 — At Las Vegas High, the Wildcats scored 10 runs in the second inning and rolled to the five-inning win over the Chargers.

Layne Adaro was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and three RBIs for Las Vegas. Jose Martinez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Oliver Haro Reyes added two hits for the Wildcats.

Elijah Fuchs doubled and drove in a run for Clark.

Centennial 10, Eldorado 0 — At Centennial, Jonathan Merino fired a one-hitter to lead the Bulldogs to the five-inning win over the Sundevils.

Merino had five strikeouts and no walks.

Travis Rice went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs, and Zachary Hare was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBIs for Centennial.

Palo Verde 10, American Fork (Utah) 5 — At St. George, Utah, Peyton Cole was 3-for-4 with a double, a homer and three RBIs to lead the Panthers to the win in the Red Rock Classic.

Josiah Cromwick went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs, and Paul Myro added a home run and two RBIs for Palo Verde.

Skyridge (Utah) 4, Faith Lutheran 2 — At St. George, Utah, Carter Smith scattered seven hits and struck out eight to lead the Falcons past the Crusaders in the Red Rock Classic.

Sagan Gronauer went 2-for-3 for Faith Lutheran.

Moapa Valley 6, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Chase Hadley tossed a four-hitter and struck out 11 batters as the Pirates defeated the Dragons.

Luke Bennett doubled for Moapa Valley.

Del Sol’s Jose Galicio pitched six innings and had seven strikeouts.

Boulder City 8, SLAM Academy 0 — At Boulder City, Blaze Trumble was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI to help the Eagles beat the Bulls.

Jimmy Dunagan and Deavin Lopez each doubled for Boulder City, which had five pitchers combine on a three-hitter.

Lincoln County 15-15, Mountain View 0-0 — At Mountain View, the Lynx threw a pair of three-inning no-hitters to sweep the Saints.

Alex Vincent had a perfect game with eight strikeouts in the nightcap.

Mason Thornock went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Hunter Cluff had a double and two runs in that game.

In the opener, McKinley O’Connor struck out seven with no walks, but hit one batter in his three-inning no-hitter.

Vincent was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Kobe Kelley had a double and three RBIs to lead the offense.

Needles 15-10, Calvary Chapel 6-9 — At Needles, California, Dawson Yeager’s RBI single with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning plated Andre Smith with the winning run as the Mustangs finished a sweep of the Lions.

Smith walked to start the bottom of the seventh, moved to second on a passed ball and scored on Yeager’s hit.

Yeager was 3-for-5, and Nate Wilfong went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Needles.

Ryan Carroll was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs for Calvary Chapel.

In the opener, Tyler White went 3-for-3 with a double, five runs and three RBIs as the Mustangs cruised to the win.

Landon Perritt was 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs.

Christian Zachodni was 2-for-3 with two doubles for Calvary Chapel in the first game.

Round Mountain 25-3, GV Christian 5-23 — At Burkholder Park, Logan Hall was 2-for-2 with a double, three runs and three RBIs to help the Guardians earn a split with the Knights.

Cameron Forsythe was 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs in the nightcap for GV Chrsitian, which was helped by 15 walks and four hit batters. The Guardians scored 18 runs in the second inning.

In the opener, Round Mountain scored eight runs in the second to take the lead, then used a 15-run third inning to put the game away.

Diego Guerra was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Forsythe added a double and an RBI for GV Christian.

Chaparral 20, Cheyenne 10 — At Chaparral, Rodney Elosegui had three hits and five RBIs as the Cowboys defeated the Desert Shields.
