ROUNDUP: Sierra Vista baseball drops Durango

Tommy Barnes was 4-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs as Sierra Vista earned an 8-2 road win over Durango on Tuesday.

The victory moves the Mountain Lions into a tie for second place in the Southwest League with Spring Valley at 11-4 with one game remaining. Durango finished 11-5 in the league.

Jake Hager was 2-for-3 with a triple, and Brooks Klein was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Sierra Vista, which scored four runs in the top of the seventh to pull away.

Mike Sukeyasu homered for Durango.

Pahrump Valley 12, Bonanza 11 — At Bonanza, Eddie Martinez was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs as the Trojans held off the Bengals.

Jarret Holley and Sam Morrow each added two hits for Pahrump, which led 12-6 before allowing five runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Dan Cazier came on in relief with two runners on and retired the final batter of the sixth to get out of the jam.

Kris Bryant homered for Bonanza.

Eldorado 16, Chaparral 7 — At Chaparral, Daniel LeCavalier hit two home runs, and Jared Hoven drove in six as the Sundevils beat the Cowboys.

LeCavalier was 2-for-4 with four RBIs, and Hoven was 2-for-4 with a grand slam. Adam Gallegos added two hits, two runs and two RBIs for the Sundevils.

Desert Oasis 13, Western 3 — At Desert Oasis, Brian Morrison was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Diamondbacks over the Warriors in six innings.

Zane Killebrew was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI for Desert Oasis.

Brennen Stott, Branden Cook and Jossaiah Raval each had a double for the Diamondbacks.

David Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and a run for Western.  

Spring Valley 18, Clark 1 — At Clark, Enzo Bello went 5-for-5 with a double and seven RBIs as the Grizzlies routed the Chargers in five innings.

Josh Stout was 2-for-2 with three runs, Cameron Cole went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and winning pitcher R.J.

Randall went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs.

Jackson Morrow added a single, a triple, two runs and two RBIs for Spring Valley.

Rancho 26, Desert Pines 2 — At Desert Pines, Brandon Pletsch was 5-for-5 and hit for the cycle, including a fourth-inning grand slam, as the Rams routed the Jaguars.

Rancho’s Kevin Kline was 3-for-5 with three doubles and three RBIs, and Mike Cruz was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs.

The Rams finished with 11 extra-base hits.

Las Vegas 31, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Brig Jensen tripled and drove in six runs as the Wildcats rolled past the Pioneers.

Bryce Harper had a double, a triple and scored five runs, and Quinnton Mack doubled and tripled for Las Vegas, which drew 14 walks and had two batters hit by pitches.

Valley 10, Mojave 3 — At Valley, Dayan Oses was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, a home run and two RBIs to lead the Vikings past the Rattlers.

Oses needed a single to complete the cycle but was walked in the sixth inning.

Arbor View 13, Moapa Valley 3 — At Arbor View, Zack Hartman was 2-for-3 with four RBIs as the Aggies beat the Pirates.

Arbor View’s Josh Arnold was 2-for-2.

Bishop Gorman 10, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Erik Van Meetren hit a grand slam as the Gaels beat the Mustangs in five innings.

Joey Rickard and R.J. Santigate each added two hits, and Jeff Malm homered for Gorman.

Rickard threw a three-hitter with six strikeouts for the Gaels.

Tech 14, Boulder City 7 — At Boulder City, Justin Vasquez was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead the Roadrunners past the Eagles.

Tech’s Chris Sambol was 2-for-3 with a triple.

Virgin Valley 4, Desert Hills (Utah) 3 — At Mesquite, Anthony Morris put down a suicide-squeeze bunt in the bottom of the seventh to bring in Terran Leavitt for the go-ahead run in the Bulldogs’ win over Desert Hills.

Virgin Valley’s Travis Leavitt drove in Johnny Gleave and Jason Wittwer on a one-out single to tie the game.

Henderson International 15, Trinity 3 — At Henderson International, Keenan Gladd-Brown was 3-for-4 with three home runs and seven RBIs to lead the Wolverines past Trinity.

Nick Powell tossed a four-hitter with six strikeouts to earn the win.

Cole Fouch, Charles Pachas, Jay Sutorius and Jon Dapper each had two hits for Henderson International.

Gage Neuwohner had a double and a triple for the Thunder.

Mountain View 14, Pahranagat Valley 10 — At Pahranagat Valley, the Saints used a six-run second inning to get past the Panthers.

Evan Theodore was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three stolen bases for Mountain View.

Chase Hansen was 3-for-5 for the Saints, who turned a triple play in the bottom of the first inning.

Laughlin 15, Lake Mead 0 — At Silver Bowl Park, Andre Prosise pitched a no-hitter with nine strikeouts to lift the Cougars to a five-inning rout of the Eagles.

A first-inning walk prevented Prosise from throwing a perfect game.

Jorgen Davidson was 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead Laughlin, which scored 15 runs on six hits.

Tonopah 7-7, Beatty 5-12 — At Beatty, Ricardo Pelayo went 2-for-4 with four RBIs in the second game to help the Hornets split with the Muckers.

Brandon Villanueva had two hits and two RBIs in the second game for Beatty.

In the first game, Tonopah scored three runs in the seventh to pull out the win.

Isaias Flores was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and two RBIs for Beatty.
