ROUNDUP: Spring Valley rallies past Palo Verde in eight innings

Enzo Bello’s two-out double plated Josh Schuster with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning Saturday, lifting Spring Valley’s baseball team to a 9-8 win over visiting Palo Verde.
Schuster walked with two outs in the eighth and moved to second on a wild pitch before scoring on Bello’s second double of the game.
Spring Valley rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh to force the extra inning.
Garrett Blair’s one out-single scored Bello with the first run of the seventh. After a double by Chase LaComb, Blair scored on Billy Bob Ward’s groundout. Aaron Blair then singled in LaComb to tie the game.
Bello was 3-for-3 with two runs and the winning RBI. Ward went  3-for-3 with a  home run, two runs and three RBIs, and Aaron Blair was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs.
Brandon Laubhan wad 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs and an RBI to lead the Panthers. Dan Jaffe was 3-for-4 with a triple, a run and an RBI, and Alex Bonczyk went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI.
Cimarron-Memorial 11, Las Vegas 5 — At Las Vegas, Taylor Doyle went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs to lead the Spartans past the Wildcats.
Kaz Smith and Kody Gorden each added two hits for the Spartans, who broke a 3-3 tie with four runs in the sixth inning and scored four more in the seventh.
Tanner Chauncey was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to lead Las Vegas.
 
Bryce Harper, who homered, and Quinnton Mack had two hits each for the Wildcats.
 
Sierra Vista 14, Foothill 4 — At College of Southern Nevada, Tommy Barnes went 4-for-4 with a double, and Sierra Vista used an eight-run second inning to rout Foothill.
Jake Findlay homered and doubled for the Mountain Lions. Matt Holman, who had three RBIs, and David DeCarlo each went 2-for-4 with two doubles for Sierra Vista.
West Wendover 8-7, Henderson International 2-9 — At Henderson International, Vinh Thai and Cal Rivera each went 2-for-2 in the second game, giving the host Wolverines a split of a doubleheader against West Wendover.
Thai drove in two runs, and Rivera scored three for the Wolverines, who built a 9-2 lead in the fourth inning.
In the opener, Junior Rodriguez went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, two runs and an RBI to power the West Wendover to the win.
