ROUNDUP: Van Meetren belts five homers in Gorman rout

Erik Van Meetren went 5-for-5 with five home runs and seven RBIs as Bishop Gorman routed host Clark 27-0 on Thursday.
Gorman hit 10 home runs in the game.

Jeff Malm went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs, Joey Rickard went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Neil Lawhorn went 3-for-3 with two runs. Johnny Field homered twice and Stephen Manthei once.
Clark’s Manny Estrada was 2-for-2.
Centennial 8, Cimarron-Memorial 5 — At Cimarron, Robby Rosenthal homered and finished 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs to lead the Bulldogs over the Spartans.
Centennial’s Matt Triana went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs and Loral Monson was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.
Cimarron’s Kris Kaplan and A.J. Martinez each went 2-for-3.
Coronado 2, Del Sol 1 — At Coronado, R.J. Cash doubled home Cody Giordano with the go-ahead run in the sixth inning to help the Cougars nip the Dragons.
Giordano led off the sixth with a double. He also had a triple.
The Cougars’ Monte Kaser tossed a three-hitter with five strikeouts.
Basic 14, Tech 13 — At Basic, Brandon Blake and Jacob Barr each singled and scored on Matt Dimbinski’s three-run homer in the sixth inning and the Wolves held off the Roadrunners.
Dimbinski scored two runs, and Barr finished 3-for-4 with four runs and one RBI.
Tech’s Chris Sambol homered.
Palo Verde 11, Mojave 1 — At Palo Verde, Brandon Laubhan was 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs and one RBI as the Panthers beat the Rattlers.
Brian Szepelak was 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs for Palo Verde.
Silverado 16, Foothill 6 — At Silverado, Braden Keathley was 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and one run scored to lead the Skyhawks over the Falcons in six innings.
Silverado’s Tanner Dushane went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and one run.
Green Valley 19, Liberty 4 — At Liberty, Brett Harrison was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and five RBIs as the Gators downed the Patriots.
Green Valley’s Taylor Jones was 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. Rudy Strnad was 3-for-4 for the Gators, who scored nine runs in the top of the seventh.
Shadow Ridge 15, Cheyenne 2 — At Cheyenne, Jordan Blaylock pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts for the Mustangs in their win over the Desert Shields.
Shadow Ridge’s Quinn Moriarty was 4-for-4 with three runs and one RBI, and Troy Williams was 2-for-5 with two triples, three RBIs and three runs.
