ROUNDUP: Ward powers Grizzlies past Mountain Lions

Spring Valley’s Billy Bob Ward was 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Grizzlies to a 5-3 road win over Sierra Vista on Monday.

Aaron Blair and Garrett Blair combined on a six-hitter for the Grizzlies, who led 5-1 after scoring three runs in the top of the third inning.

Matt Holman was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Mountain Lions.

Palo Verde 5, Centennial 0 — At Palo Verde, Alex Bonczyk tossed a two-hitter to lead the Panthers past the Bulldogs.

Bonczyk struck out five and walked one. He also went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI.

Mike Pickrell was 3-for-3, including a two-run single in Palo Verde’s three-run first inning.

Coronado 5, Silverado 2 — At Silverado, Cody Giordano was 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to lead the Cougars over the Skyhawks.

R.J. Cash added two hits, and Monty Kaser went the distance, scattering eight hits and striking out six, to get the win.

Morgan Stotts was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs to lead Silverado. Braden Keathley and Bobby Johnson each added two hits for the Skyhawks

Durango 5, Desert Oasis 2 — At Durango, Zack Hollenback’s two-out double in the bottom of the sixth broke a 2-2 tie as the Trailblazers beat the Diamondbacks.

Matt Grisnik was 3-for-3 with a run for Durango, which scored three times in the sixth.

Billy Richardson allowed two unearned runs on four hits with six strikeouts to get the win.

Bonanza 12, Clark 4 — At Clark, Heriberto Orozco went 3-for-5 with three doubles and six RBIs to lead the Bengals over the Chargers.

Hunter Davidson was 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs and Kris Bryant and Mario Franzese hit home runs for Bonanza.

Clark’s Manny Estrada was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Del Sol 5, Basic 1 — At Del Sol, Jerett Tufono earned a complete-game win to lead the Dragons past the Wolves.

Tufono allowed no earned runs on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts.

Five players had one hit each for Del Sol, including David Day’s double.

Marty Christianson doubled for Basic.

Foothill 7, Liberty 1 — At Liberty, Jake Ferdinand went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs to help the Falcons defeat the Patriots.

Mike Gibellina also hit a home run, and Jordan Stewart and Jordan Mathis each had doubles for Foothill.

Legacy 13, Cheyenne 4 — At Cheyenne, Andres Ortiz started the game with a solo home run and went 3-for-5 with two homers and four RBIs to help the Longhorns down the Desert Shields.

Chase Skinner went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs for Legacy.

Morgan Sandberg had a double for Cheyenne.

Shadow Ridge 11, Mojave 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Sean Hobbs went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs to help the Mustangs down the Rattlers.

Jordan Blaylock was 2-for-3 with two runs, and Bobbie Drennen and Colt Stout each had a triple for Shadow Ridge.

Green Valley 10, Tech 0 — At Green Valley, Anthony Uran and Andrew Hendrickson combined on a one-hitter as the Gators defeated the Roadrunners in six innings.

Uran threw five hitless innings with six strikeouts to pick up the win.

Tariq Staton went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs and Nick Libonati was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for Green Valley.

Bishop Gorman 14, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Pahrump, four players hit home runs to lead the Gaels to a five-inning rout of the Trojans.

Jeff Malm was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs for Gorman. R.J. Santigate (2-for-3, two RBIs), Joey Gallo and Johnny Field also homered.

Erik Van Meetren went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Gaels, and Neil Lawhorn was 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Gorman outhit Pahrump Valley 16-2.

Eldorado 13, Western 0 — At Eldorado, Jared Hoven was 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs to lead the Sundevils to a five-inning rout of the Warriors.

Eric Larsen pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts to earn the win.

Daniel LeCavalier was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Cory Keplinger was 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI for Eldorado.

Moapa Valley 6, Desert Pines 5 — At Moapa Valley, Jacob Hoy’s RBI single plated Shaun Hilton for the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift the Pirates past the Jaguars.

Moapa Valley scored four runs in the sixth to erase a 5-2 hole.

The Pirates began the inning with three consecutive walks before Dallin Seely came through with a two-run double.

Desert Pines’ Angel Escobedo pitched a three-hitter and hit a home run.
