Andy Johnson leaves Findlay Prep for job at Southern Utah

Findlay Prep’s boys basketball program will have a new head coach for the upcoming season.
Andy Johnson, who was hired as the team’s head coach in May of 2014, announced Tuesday night that he was leaving Findlay Prep to take a job at Southern Utah.
Johnson announced the move via Twitter.
“I am very excited to be joining Head Coach Todd Simon and his staff at Southern Utah University!” Johnson tweeted.

Earlier Tuesday night Johnson tweeted that assistant Rodney Haddix would be interim coach.
“I would like to thank The Henderson International School, teachers, administration, the Findlay Educational Foundation, coaches and all the great Findlay Prep Student Athletes we have had the privilege to coach over the last 7 years!” Johnson tweeted.
Johnson joined Findlay Prep as an assistant in 2009. The Pilots went 55-5 in Johnson’s two seasons as head coach, including a 26-2 mark last season.
Johnson did not return calls seeking comment.
