BASKETBALL: Jeter’s big night propels Gorman boys to win in Nike Extravaganza

Chase Jeter had 19 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots Saturday to help Bishop Gorman’s boys basketball team to a 68-53 win over JSerra Catholic (Calif.) in the Nike Extravaganza in Santa Ana, Calif.

Noah Robotham added 17 points and seven assists for the Gaels, who led 47-42 after three quarters.

Nick Blair had 11 points, and Obim Okeke scored 10 for Gorman, which got nine points and eight rebounds from Stephen Zimmerman.

Johnnie Vassar had 23 points to lead the Lions.

Needles 33, Lake Mead 31 — At Lake Mead, Wyatt Upshaw scored 10 points to help the Mustangs edge the Eagles.

Dylan Graham had 14 points for Lake Mead, which led 13-6 after one quarter.

Agassi Prep 76, Lincoln County 49 — At Panaca, Deishuan Booker scored 26 points, and the Stars grabbed a 38-18 halftime lead on their way to a win over the Lynx.

Wa’T Manor added 14 points, and Kobe Williams scored 12 for Agassi Prep.

McClain O’Connor paced Lincoln County with 14 points.

GIRLS

The Meadows 44, Laughlin 30 — At Laughlin, Bailey Gosse had 16 points to help the Mustangs down the Cougars.

Cassidy Gosse added 10 points for The Meadows, which held Laughlin to two points in the first quarter and outscored the Cougars 16-8 in the final quarter.

Cassie Beggs had 11 points, and Katelyn Skillingstad grabbed 17 rebounds for the Cougars.

Lincoln County 67, Agassi Prep 46 — At Panaca, Savannah Harr scored eight of her 22 points during a 21-4 third-quarter run that allowed the Lynx to pull away from the Stars.

Jaycee Wadsworth added 10 points for Lincoln County.

Jada Smith led Agassi Prep with 21 points.

Needles 46, Lake Mead 37 — At Lake Mead, Demi Limon had 13 points to help the Mustangs top the Eagles.

Caitlyn Courtwright added 11 points, and Brenna Chavez scored 10 for Needles.

Savannah Schmidt led Lake Mead with 12 points.
