Bishop Gorman Boys Basketball 2012-2013 Capsule

Head coach: Grant Rice, 12th season

2011-12 record: 28-4 (16-0 Southwest)

Returning lettermen (starters): Seven (two)

Top players: G Noah Robotham (Jr.), G Rashad Muhammad (Sr.), G Trey Kennedy (Sr.), C Stephen Zimmerman (So.), C Chase Jeter (So.), F Austin Guinn (Sr.)

Outlook: Shabazz Muhammad, Demetris Morant, Ben Carter, Rosco Allen, Ronnie Stanley, Gio Guzman ... all gone.

And yet, hardly anyone expects a major dropoff for the Gaels, who still have plenty of talent.

Rashad Muhammad earned some starts last season and finished with a 10.0-point per game average. Robotham, Kennedy and Zimmerman all showed flashes of brilliance last season.

The Gaels still have plenty of size with the 6-foot-11-inch Zimmerman and the 6-9 Jeter.

"We are definitely a young team, but we will rely a lot on experienced players such as Noah Robotham, Rashad Muhammad, Stephen Zimmerman and Trey Kennedy," Rice said. "All four of them were contributors on last year's state championship team."
