BOYS BASKETBALL: Arrey, Longhorns top host Desert Shields

Shakir Arrey scored 14 points Monday to lead Legacy’s boys basketball team to a 59-56 road win over Cheyenne.
Jacob Rainey added 13 points for the Longhorns, who held off a late Cheyenne rally and escaped when Bruce Gaitor’s half-court shot fell short at the buzzer.
Dontre Avery scored 10 for Legacy.
Joseph Rose had 20 points and 15 rebounds to lead Cheyenne. Gaitor had 18 points, and Ulises Santillan scored 11 for the Desert Shields.
Canyon Springs 88, Mojave 74 — At Mojave, Channel Banks led five Pioneers in double figures with 21 points as they topped the Rattlers.
Jordan Davis had 19 points and Kajuan Casey scored 17 for Canyon Springs, which led 45-27 at the half. Derrick Legardy had 15 points, and D’Quan Crockett scored 10 for the Pioneers.
Jordan Glenn led Mojave with 23 points and seven rebounds. Melvin Irvey added 12 points for the Rattlers.
Shadow Ridge 60, Rancho 50 — At Shadow Ridge, Jerell Springer scored 18 points to lead the Mustangs past the Rams.
Preston Echols added 16 points for Shadow Ridge, and teammate Kyle Brown scored 11.
Kenneth Smith scored 13 points to lead Rancho. David McKeever and Ciriman Keita each added 10 points for the Rams, who trailed 43-27 entering the fourth quarter.
Desert Pines 81, Arbor View 57 — At Desert Pines, Coby Myles scored 24 points to lead Jaguars past the Aggies.
Capri Uzan scored 20 points for Desert Pines, and teammate Trevon Abdullah added 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Trent Hunt led the Aggies with 22 points. Rashaad Thomas scored 14 points, and Jesse Vogel 12 for the Aggies.
Cimarron-Memorial 65, Tech 44 — At Cimarron, Terrell Walker had 24 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Spartans over the Roadrunners.
Jaron Ponder added 10 points for Cimarron.
Crawford Linden led Tech with 18 points, and teammate Elijah Wesley scored 12.
Bonanza 64, Pahrump Valley 26 — At Bonanza, Jamal Logan scored 14 of his 17 points in the first half as the Bengals built a 40-14 halftime lead and cruised by the Trojans.
DaVonta Price added 13 points for Bonanza.
T.J. Milk led Pahrump with nine points.
Needles 51, Palo Verde Valley (Calif.) 31 — At Needles, Trenton Poe-Evans had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Mustangs to the win.
Victor Ochoa added 11 points and six assists, and Cody Tobler grabbed 15 rebounds for Needles.
Coral Academy 71, Indian Springs 9 — At Indian Springs, Isaiah Buck scored 12 points as the Falcons routed the Thunderbirds.
Kaleb Robinson and Brennan Rosales each added 11 points for Coral Academy, which led 28-4 after one quarter and held Indian Springs scoreless in the fourth quarter.
Sebastian Smith scored five points for the Thunderbirds.
