BOYS BASKETBALL: Basic, Foothill suspended following melee

The boys basketball game between Basic and host Foothill was suspended Wednesday with 3 minutes, 30 seconds left in overtime after a melee broke out in the stands, involving several fans and one Basic player.
According to Foothill assistant coach, John Ringler, the Basic player was ejected for his involvement.
Ringler said that benches cleared, and the melee “rolled on and on and wouldn’t stop.”
The game, which was tied at 61-61, was suspended, and several police cars were seen at the school.
Marc Ratner, the commissioner of the Southern Nevada Officials Association, said that he would meet with Clark County School District officials on Thursday to determine what would happen with the game.
Coronado 73, Rancho 50 — At Rancho, Nick Kornieck poured in 42 points to power the Cougars past the Rams.
Travis Boman, Andrew Palma and Jake DesJardins each supplied seven points for Coronado, which held Rancho to one point in the second quarter and led 33-17 at halftime.
Rancho’s Siriman Keita had 12 points, and David McKeever and Kenneth Smith each scored 10 for the Rams.
Desert Oasis 54, Arbor View 41 — At Desert Oasis, Aamondae Coleman had 25 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Diamondbacks over the Aggies
Daron Fuglesten added 12 points for Desert Oasis, which trailed 36-33 entering the fourth quarter and put the game away with a 21-5 spurt.
Trent Hunt scored 18 points for Arbor View.
Green Valley 52, Eldorado 47 — At Green Valley, Romello Jones scored 20 points to lead the Gators to victory over the Sundevils.
Xavier Jarvis had 13 points, and Kris Nicholas added 10 points for Green Valley, which used a 20-10 fourth quarter run to pull away.
Carmonte Jones scored 18 points to lead Eldorado, and Carl Crayon had 13 points for the Sundevils.
Valley 75, Liberty 60 — At Valley, Shea Garland had 22 points, and Tayveon Jackson added 17 points to lead the Vikings to victory over the Patriots.
Nick Brannon scored 16 points and Cameron Burton 12 for Valley, which jumped out to a 49-24 halftime lead.
Tai Senor led Liberty with 18 points, and Ed O’Bannon had 15 points for the Patriots.
Centennial 79, Cimarron-Memorial 57 — At Centennial, Darrian Traylor had 19 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Spartans.
Roy Sparks scored 15 points for Centennial, which got 10 points apiece from Evan Gulbrandsen and Garett Scheer.
Terrell Walker scored 20 points to lead Cimarron.
