BOYS BASKETBALL: Bergen lifts Crusaders by Mojave

Luke Bergen scored 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer from the right wing with eight seconds to go Friday to lift Faith Lutheran's boys basketball team to a 73-72 win over visiting Mojave.

The Rattlers, who shot 13-for-28 from the free-throw line, missed a shot on the ensuing possession and quickly fouled Faith Lutheran on the rebound. After a missed a free throw, Mojave's Daryl Adams missed a three-quarter court heave at the buzzer.

Blake Bell had 12 points and seven assists, and Bryce Neagle added 10 points and seven rebounds for Faith Lutheran, which trailed 56-54 after three quarters.

Adams led Mojave with 24 points. Chrishawn Thomas had 19 points, and Richard Edwards notched 13 points for the Rattlers, who got 10 points from Lamaja Cunningham. Mojave would have qualified for the Division I-A Southern Region playoffs with a win.

Beaver Dam 63, Round Mountain 61 — At Littlefield, Ariz., Luiz Gonzalez hit a 3-pointer with 24 seconds remaining to lift the Diamondbacks over the Knights.

Nick Miromontes scored 27 points, and Gonzalez added 21 points for Beaver Dam.

Austin Hayes scored 18 points to lead Round Mountain, and teammate Payton Brown scored 15.

Needles 57, Calvary Chapel 50 — At Needles, Calif., Michael Chavez scored 16 points to lead the Mustangs past the Lions.

Trenton Poe-Evans added 11 points, and Devin Darrow had eight points and 10 rebounds for Needles.

Quentin Hank scored 27 points for Calvary Chapel.

Agassi Prep 67, Lincoln County 38 — At Panaca, Akeemis Williams had 20 points to lead the Stars by the Lynx.

Charles Holiday had 13 points, and Daniel Plummer scored 10 for Agassi Prep, which trailed 18-14 after one quarter.

Samuel Anderson scored all 11 of his points in the first quarter for Lincoln County.

Tonopah 44, Sandy Valley 43 — At Sandy Valley, Hunter Galli scored 14 points to help the Muckers nip the Sidewinders.

Tyler Kirkland added 10 points for Tonopah.

Wyatt Robinson had 23 points, and Logan Shelton scored 10 for Sandy Valley.

Pahranagat Valley 67, Indian Springs 21 — At Alamo, Geoff Mortensen and Shawn Wadsworth each had 10 points as the Panthers routed the Thunderbirds.

Culen Highbe and Cody Williams each added eight points for Pahranagat Valley, which led 21-0 after one quarter.

Nino Alvarez had 10 points for Indian Springs.

The Meadows 56, Lake Mead 24 — At The Meadows, Max Hisatake scored 23 points to lead the Mustangs in a rout of the Eagles.

Asheesh Chopra added seven points for The Meadows, which led 21-4 after one quarter.

Austin Newby scored 12 points to lead Lake Mead.
