BOYS BASKETBALL: Brown’s 29 points help Eldorado secure playoff berth

Jayveon Brown scored 29 points Wednesday as Eldorado’s boys basketball team ended a four-game losing streak and clinched the Southeast League’s final playoff berth with a 57-53 win at Liberty.

Jacob Hollingsworth added eight points for the Sundevils, who led 31-22 at the half.

Elijah Graves had 22 points and 19 rebounds to lead Liberty. Ed O’Bannon added 10 points for the Patriots.

Basic 60, Del Sol 59 — At Del Sol, Josh Villaros led a balanced attack with 14 points as the Wolves held off the Dragons.

Chandler Kamai and Jared Meacham each had 12 points, and Shelldan Slayton scored 10 for Basic, which led 39-30 entering the fourth quarter.

Kyle Collins had 28 points, and Eduardo Romero scored 10 for Del Sol.

Sierra Vista 80, Spring Valley 64 — At Sierra Vista, Mikko Balmes had 20 points to help the Mountain Lions top the Grizzlies to earn the Northwest League’s final playoff berth.

Jeremiah Covington added 14 points and nine rebounds for Sierra Vista, which outscored Spring Valley 19-7 in the third quarter to take control.

Apollo Corley had 14 points, and Dominique March scored 11 for the Mountain Lions.

Terrell Lee paced the Grizzlies with 21 points. Ryan Goecke added 14 points and DeVante Moten scored 13 for Spring Valley.

Durango 83, Palo Verde 68 — At Durango, Darryl Gaynor had 32 points and eight rebounds, and teammate Alex Arias notched 21 points and 14 rebounds to propel the Trailblazers to victory over the Panthers.

Victor Ross supplied 12 points and 14 rebounds, and Vee Price contributed 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists for Durango, which used a 25-11 fourth quarter to pull away.

Connor Lemmon scored 13 points, and Ja Morgan added 10 points to lead Palo Verde.

Las Vegas 85, Silverado 51 — At Silverado, Re’Kwon Smith scored 23 points to lead the Wildcats to an easy win over the Skyhawks.

Tyler Bey added 14 points, and Patrick Savoy had 11 points for Las Vegas, which used a 34-11 third-quarter burst to pull away.

Joe Baldi supplied 23 points, and Jordan Ashdown notched 12 points to lead Silverado.

Arbor View 86, Shadow Ridge 58 — At Shadow Ridge, Terrell Butler made five 3-pointers and had 29 points as the Aggies routed the Mustangs.

Charles Porter added 15 points, and Justin Burks scored 13 for Arbor View.

Serph Decker led Shadow Ridge with 16 points. Preston Echols added 14 points, and Jordin Williams scored 13 for the Mustangs.

Green Valley 76, Rancho 52 — At Green Valley, Tyrell Crosby had 20 points and 21 rebounds as the Gators topped the Rams.

Troy Cropper added 24 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, and Kris Nicholas scored 10 for Green Valley, which used a 24-6 third-quarter run to take control.

David McKeever led Rancho with 16 points.

Foothill 81, Coronado 45 — At Coronado, Jalen Shepard had 19 points as the Falcons blitzed the Cougars.

Matt Rapp and Torrance Littles each scored 14 points for Foothill.

Eddie Austin had 15 points, and Travis Boman grabbed 17 rebounds for Coronado.
