BOYS BASKETBALL: Cheyenne earns double-overtime win over Shadow Ridge

Alajahn Banks had 20 points and Cheyenne's boys basketball team was 5-for-5 from the free-throw line in two overtime periods Tuesday en route to a 74-67 road win at Shadow Ridge.

William Moore added 18 points for the Desert Shields, who outscored the Mustangs 9-2 in the second overtime.

Dewayne Alexander had 14 points, and Anthony McConnico scored 10 for Cheyenne.

Shadow Ridge's Jerrell Springer led all scorers with 25 points, and Kevin Branch added 13 points for the Mustangs.

Palo Verde 86, Foothill 76 — At Foothill, Taylor Miller scored a game-high 29 points as the Panthers beat the Falcons.

Ryan Vogelei added 20 points for Palo Verde, which outscored Foothill 20-11 in the second quarter to take control.

Alex Hall and James Camp had 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Panthers.

Marvin Coleman paced the Falcons with 14 points. Mikey Shaw added 12 points for Foothill, which outscored the Panthers 32-23 in the fourth quarter.

Centennial 65, Coronado 53 — At Coronado, Troy Brown scored 11 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter to help the Bulldogs hold off the Cougars.

Brown was 9-for-13 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, and the Bulldogs were 16-for-24 from the stripe for the game.

Jake Hutchings added 21 points for Centennial.

Jake DesJardins led Coronado with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Kennedy Kohler added 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Cougars.

Chaparral 62, Basic 50 — At Chaparral, Marc Silas scored 25 points to lead the Cowboys over the Wolves.

Richard Nelson added 20 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots for Chaparral, which led 33-25 at the half. Robin Rosales had eight assists for the Cowboys.

Trent Digiulio led Basic with nine points.

Durango 69, Desert Oasis 53 — At Durango, Chase Ruiz led four double-figure scorers with 19 points as the Trailblazers defeated the Diamondbacks.

Jason Landman had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Demetrius Valdez added 12 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, and Michael Diggins had 12 points and eight rebounds for Durango.

Aamondae Coleman had 18 points to lead Desert Oasis, and Jacob Heese scored 10 for the Diamondbacks.

Clark 58, Canyon Springs 34 — At Canyon Springs, Keyshaun Webb had 15 points, and the Chargers opened the game on a 16-0 run en route to the win over the Pioneers.

James Bridges added nine points for Clark.

Marlon Tatum led Canyon Springs with 14 points.

Desert Pines 64, Las Vegas 41 — At Las Vegas, Greg Floyd had 24 points to help the Jaguars defeat the Wildcats.

Capri Uzan added 21 points for Desert Pines, which led 36-16 at the break.

Marquise Raybon paced Las Vegas with 15 points.

Western 59, Tech 41 — At Western, Kwan Carter poured in 23 points to lead the Warriors by the Roadrunners.

Western led 20-6 after one quarter and never looked back.

Paul Galang had 12 points, and Jurelle Orbino scored 11 for Tech.

Legacy 56, Valley 50 — At Legacy, the Longhorns took a 21-8 lead after one quarter and held off the Vikings.

Timothy Jeffries had 12 points to lead Legacy, and teammate Tracy Porter scored 11. Valley pulled within two with about a minute to play, but Legacy was able to secure the win at the free-throw line.

John King led Valley with 15 points, and teammate Zach Nichols scored 13.

Bishop Gorman 68, Faith Lutheran 48 — At Faith Lutheran, Zach Collins scored 15 points to help the Gaels down the Crusaders.

Christian Popoola added 11 points for Gorman, and Chase Noma'aea and Byron Frohnen each scored nine for the Gaels.

Blake Bell lead Faith Lutheran with 12 points. Luke Bergen had 10 points for the Crusaders.

Silverado 54, Virgin Valley 43 — At Silverado, Errol Newman had 20 points to lead the Skyhawks past the Bulldogs.

Matthew Arnold added nine points for Silverado, which outscored Virgin Valley 18-10 in the second quarter to take a 28-18 halftime lead.

Hogan Fowles led Virgin Valley with 15 points, and teammate Zach Barnum scored 10.

Moapa Valley 52, Pahranagat Valley 47 — At Alamo, Jay Mortensen scored 14 points, and the Pirates outscored the Panthers 5-0 in the overtime to pull out a victory.

Koby Frei and Derek Cope each hit two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter for Moapa Valley, which trailed 34-31 after three quarters. Frei finished with 12 points for the Pirates, who grabbed a 47-45 lead late.

But Pahranagat Valley's Jacob Roemer scored before the buzzer to force the overtime. Tabor Maxwell led the Panthers with nine points.

Agassi Prep 68, Lake Mead 42 — At Lake Mead, Akeemis Williams scored 19 points to lead the Stars to an easy win over the Eagles.

D'Andre Houston added 13 points for Agassi Prep.

Shay Rutledge scored a game-high 22 points for Lake Mead.

Calvary Chapel 62, Mountain View 57 — At Mountain View, Quentin Hank scored 27 points, and the Lions rallied from a 36-24 halftime deficit to beat the Saints.

D.J. Golden supplied 11 points, and Cameron Varela scored 10 for Calvary Chapel.

Tevin Gray led Mountain View with 24 points. Tyrell Brooks added 19 points, and Terrence Brooks scored 10 for the Saints.

Needles 65, Laughlin 54 — At Laughlin, Irving Juarez had 20 points, five assists and six steals to lead the Mustangs over the Cougars.

Michael Chavez scored 11, and Frankie Garcia and Devin Darrow each added 10 points for Needles. Trey Tsosie added 10 rebounds and seven steals for the Mustangs.

Corey Anderson led Laughlin with 26 points, and teammate Tyler Furr scored 13.
