BOYS BASKETBALL: Christopher Hawkins, Canyon Springs hold off Rancho

Christopher Hawkins scored 19 points to lift Canyon Springs’ boys basketball team to a 55-49 home win over Rancho on Monday.

Kevin Legardy added 11 points for the Pioneers, who led 28-17 at halftime.

Dayshawn Robinson had 19 points for Rancho, and teammate Chrys Jackson scored 13.

Chaparral 61, Del Sol 55 — At Chaparral, Ronnie Hicks and Jonathan Tendale each scored 13 points to lead the Cowboys to a victory over the Dragons.

Ben Kirschbaum and Marcus Hilliard each added eight points for Chaparral, which rallied from a 25-21 halftime deficit.

Jonathan Spearman led all scorers with 22 points for Del Sol. Mekhi Duncan added 15 points, and Keith Seldon scored 10 for the Dragons.

Clark 67, Sierra Vista 56 — At Sierra Vista, Ian Alexander led five double-figure scorers with 14 points to help the Chargers down the Mountain Lions.

Trey Woodbury and Jalen Hill each scored 12 points, and Antwon Jackson and James Bridges had 10 points apiece for Clark, which led 42-29 at halftime. Jackson and Alexander each added 12 rebounds for the Chargers.

Maka Ellis led Sierra Vista with 22 points. Maui SeraJosef had 18 points, and Chris McCoy scored 12 for the Mountain Lions.

Durango 82, Spring Valley 60 — At Spring Valley, Jeremie Portuondo scored 17 points in the Trailblazers’ win over the Grizzlies.

Demetrius Valdez added 14 points, Juwan Rohan had 13 points, and Zyare Ruffin and Jovan Lubara each scored 12 for Durango.

Keelan Wickersham and Ryan Frazier scored 17 points apiece for Spring Valley.

Eldorado 58, Valley 31 — At Eldorado, Jordan Carter led all scorers with 21 points as the Sundevils defeated the Vikings.

Jonathan Thomas had 12 points for the Sundevils, who led 37-15 at halftime.

John King scored 19 points to lead Valley.

Bishop Gorman 92, Desert Oasis 62 — At Gorman, Christian Popoola had 16 points and 10 assists to lead the Gaels past the Diamondbacks.

Ben Higgins added 15 points, and Jamal Bey scored 11 for Gorman.

Desert Oasis’ Jacob Heese led all scorers with 25 points and had 10 rebounds. Manny Mitchell had 14 points, and Taiga Miyano scored 10 for the Diamondbacks.

Findlay Prep 94, Las Vegas 49 — At Las Vegas, P.J. Washington scored 29 points as the Pilots routed the Wildcats.

Jack Schwietz added 16 points, Lamine Diane had 12 points, and Justin Roberts and Reggie Chaney each scored 11 for Findlay Prep.

Donovan Joyner led Las Vegas with 17 points. Zach Matlock and Michael Berkabile each scored 12 for the Wildcats.

Virgin Valley 57, Tech 39 — At Mesquite, Andrew Memmot’s 16 points led all scorers as the Bulldogs defeated the Roadrunners.

Hogan Fowles added 11 points for Virgin Valley.

Randall Bordenave led Tech with nine points.

Adelson School 77, Calvary Chapel 63 — At Calvary Chapel, Jake Buchman scored 19 points to lead Adelson School past Calvary Chapel.

Miles Hagan had 17 points, Brandon Pappas added 14 points, and Ben Elharrar scored 13 for Adelson School.

Elijah Martinez led all scorers with 20 points for Calvary Chapel, and teammates Marior Munda and Alec Neider each scored 13.

SLAM Academy 71, Liberty Baptist 44 — At Liberty Baptist, London Coleman led all scorers with 18 points as SLAM Academy took down the Eagles.

Seth Sullivan led Liberty Baptist with 13 points, and teammate Andrew Sikora scored 10.
