BOYS BASKETBALL: Crayon, Sundevils outlast Bengals in OT

Carl Crayon scored 23 points Thursday as Eldorado’s boys forced overtime with a last-second shot and went on to beat host Bonanza, 64-62.

Shane Barnes, who finished with 13 points, hit a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime for the Sundevils. Bonanza missed the front end of a 1-and-1 at the other end before Barnes hit the game-tying shot.

Joshua Brown added nine points for Eldorado, which shot 24 of 36 from the free-throw line.

Jamal Logan had 21 points, and teammate DaVonta Price scored 11 for the Bengals.

Virgin Valley 66, Moapa Valley 56 — At Mesquite, Zach Barnum had 16 points to lead five double-figure scorers as the Bulldogs outlasted the Pirates.

Marcus Saunders and Cody Jones each had 12 points for Virgin Valley, which also got 11 points from Jarrett Tietjen and 10 points from Cody Burnside. Jones hit 10 free throws in the fourth quarter for the Bulldogs, who led 46-41 after three quarters.

Andrew Huerta led all scorers with 20 points for Moapa Valley, and teammate Jay Mortensen scored 11.

Palo Verde 79, Cimarron-Memorial 56 — At Cimarron, Taylor Miller scored 19 points to lead the Panthers past the Spartans.

Grant Dressler scored 16 points, and Ja Morgan added 14 points for Palo Verde, which got 11 points from Graeson Vereen.

Edwin Jones had 16 points and nine rebounds, and Jadon Brown added 13 points for Cimarron.

Clovis West (Calif.) 61, Canyon Springs 48 — At Fresno, Calif., the Golden Eagles topped the Pioneers.

Jordan Davis had 24 points, and Kajuan Casey added 10 points for Canyon Springs, which trailed 31-24 at halftime.

Valley 70, Basic 19 — At Valley, Cameron Burton had 12 points and 10 assists, and Nick Brannon supplied 10 points, eight rebounds, seven steals and six assists as the Vikings cruised past the Wolves.

Taveon Jackson and Darrion Daniels each added 11 points, and Shea Garland had nine points and 11 rebounds for Valley.

Josh Villaros led Basic with 12 points.

Spring Mountain 58, Lund 40 — At Saville Middle School, Steve Jones scored 10 points to lead the Grizzlies past Lund.

The Golden Eagles led 15-2 after one quarter and 30-6 at the half.

Adelson School 61, Lake Mead 45 — At Adelson School, the Stars downed the Eagles.
