BOYS BASKETBALL: Freshman Brown continues to impress as Centennial survives Legacy

Troy Brown scored 15 points Friday and Centennial’s boys basketball team held on for a 64-61 home win over Legacy.

Khalil Thompson and Garrett Scheer each added 12 points for the Bulldogs.

Jacob Rainey had 14 points for Legacy, which rallied to tie the game 53-53 going into the fourth quarter.

Bishop Gorman 83, Cimarron-Memorial 43 — At Cimarron, Chase Jeter scored 23 points as the Gaels cruised past the Spartans.

Stephen Zimmerman added 13 for the Gaels.

Tony Harrison had 11 points and six rebounds to lead the Spartans.

Faith Lutheran 57, Western 42 — At Western, Blake Bell had 14 points, and the Crusaders hit nine 3-pointers to top the Warriors.

Clayton Holthaus added 13 points, and John Molchon scored 10 for Faith Lutheran.

Da’Twan Bates had 12 points, six assists and five rebounds to lead Western. Markus Brown scored 13 points and Keon Lea added 10 for the Warriors.

Cheyenne 77, Pahrump Valley 40 — At Cheyenne, Davion Wright had 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and seven steals to help the Desert Shields rout the Trojans.

Jarrell Bell added 17 points, eight assists, eight steals and five rebounds for Cheyenne, which pulled away in the third quarter.

Joseph Rose had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Ryvon Grier grabbed 10 boards for the Desert Shields.

Branden Hastings led Pahrump with 10 points.

Virgin Valley 76, Moapa Valley 56 — At Virgin Valley, DeVonte Milligan had 19 points and 13 rebounds to power the Bulldogs past the Pirates.

Dee Bowler scored 20 points, and teammate Garrett Levitt added 19 points for Virgin Valley, which led 25-8 after one quarter.

Andrew Huerta had 20 points for Moapa Valley, and Jeremy Waite scored 10 for the Pirates.

Sunrise Mountain 66, Boulder City 52 — At Boulder City, Damon Heard scored 13 points to help the Miners get by the Eagles.

Trellis Quinn recorded 12 points and RoMello Tatum scored 10 for Sunrise Mountain, which outscored Boulder City 22-9 in the second quarter.

Tyler Newby scored 14 points to lead the Eagles.

Desert Pines 69, Tech 23 — At Tech, Re’Meake Keith scored 15 points to help the Jaguars roll past the Roadrunners.

Nate Grimes added 10 points for Desert Pines, which led 45-11 at halftime.

Alfonso Sanchez-Guzman led Tech with eight points.

Agassi Prep 77, Laughlin 43 — At Laughlin, Deishuan Booker scored 44 points to lift the Stars over the Cougars.

Wa’T Manor had eight points for Agassi Prep, which led 18-5 after the first quarter.

Laughlin’s Brett Smith had 14 points.

Calvary Chapel 51, Lake Mead 37 — At Calvary Chapel, Chris Basilio scored 15 points to lead the Lions past the Eagles.

Dylan Graham and Brenden LeBarron each scored 10 points for Lake Mead.

Mountain View 54, Lincoln County 48 — At Mountain View, Tevin Gray scored 15 points to help the Saints hold off the Lynx.

Nick Jenkins added nine points for Mountain View, which used a 17-7 second quarter to take a 20-10 halftime lead.

Derek Shumway scored 18 points for Lincoln County, and teammate McClain O’Connor had 13 points.

The Meadows 71, Needles 44 — At The Meadows, Eric Hirsberg had 20 points as the Mustangs ran past Needles.

William Dunn had 10 points for Needles, which trailed 44-21 at halftime.

Tonopah 58, Sandy Valley 53 — At Sandy Valley, Tyler Gallegos had 20 points as the Muckers rallied to top the Sidewinders.

Tyler Kirkland added 18 points for Tonopah.

Lane Eastham led Sandy Valley with 17 points. Logan Shelton and Jason Deer scored 10 points apiece for the Sidewinders.
