BOYS BASKETBALL: Kamakana Winquist’s jumper gives Cimarron win over Shadow Ridge

Cimarron-Memorial’s Kamakana Winquist hit a baseline jumper with 25 seconds remaining to lift the host Spartans in a 64-63 win over the Shadow Ridge boys basketball team Monday.

After Winquist’s jump shot gave the Spartans a 64-63 lead, the Mustangs had a chance to win the game but their final shot was off target and Cimarron’s Karion Harrell pulled down the rebound as time expired.

Demarco Alexander had 20 points and five rebounds to lead the Spartans. Winquist added 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Kerion Hatchett added 11 points for the Spartans.

Bricin Ford scored 19 points to lead the Mustangs. Garin Macfarlane scored 12 points, and Isaiah Williams added 10 points for Shadow Ridge.

Cheyenne 61, Mojave 52 — At Cheyenne, D’Andre Houston scored 20 points to lead the Desert Shields past the Rattlers.

Kavon Williams scored 13 points for Cheyenne, which led 23-14 at the half.

Tyrice Pender had 14 points, and Tyrique Watson scored 13 to lead Mojave.

Faith Lutheran 78, Palo Verde 50 — At Palo Verde, Nic Maccioni led all scorers with 25 points as the Crusaders defeated the Panthers.

Elijah Kothe had 18 points for Faith Lutheran, which scored 30 points in the third quarter. Connor Nichols added 14 points for the Crusaders.

Immanuel Walker scored 10 for Palo Verde.

Foothill 60, Liberty 44 — At Liberty, Marvin Coleman and Jace Roquemore each scored 16 points to lead the Falcons over the Patriots.

T.J. Johnson scored 11 for Foothill, outscored Liberty 38-24 in the second half.

Liberty’s Cameron Burist scored 20 of his 22 points in the second half.

Western 53, Sunrise Mountain 43 — At Sunrise Mountain, Kwan Carter scored 16 points to lead the Warriors by the Miners.

Michael Teague added 11 points for Western.

Steven Adeyemi paced Sunrise Mountain with 16 points.

Arbor View 82, Legacy 49 — At Legacy, Comillion Smith scored 21 points as the Aggies blew past the Longhorns.

Jarrod Burks and Sevonyea Smith each scored 11 points for Arbor View, which led 42-22 at the half.

D’Eric Marlowe scored 16 points, and Chris White added 14 points to lead the Longhorns.

Coronado 86, Green Valley 63 — At Coronado, Kennedy Koehler had 31 points and 11 rebounds as the Cougars defeated the Gators.

Coronado’s Will Weems had 11 points and 14 rebounds, Freddy Reeves scored 15 points, and Bryce Savoy scored 10 points.

Cooper Burgess led Green Valley with 17 points. Eric Johnson scored 14 points, Matthew Tuttle had 12points , and Steven Fojas scored 10 for the Gators.

Silverado 64, Basic 39 — At Silverado, Devin Ross led all scorers with 23 points to lead the Skyhawks to a victory over the Wolves.

Silverado’s Martell Williams added 14 points.

Geoff Faries and Frank Harris each scored seven points for Basic.

Desert Pines 78, Pahrump Valley 46 — At Pahrump Valley, Capri Uzan led the Jaguars with 20 points as they defeated the Trojans.

Trevor Abdullah-Booker added 15 points, and Derrick Coleman scored 11 points for Desert Pines.

Pahrump’s Antonio Fortin led all scorers with 23 points.

Indian Springs 57, GV Christian 50 — At Indian Springs, Dallin Davis poured in 38 points to lead the Thunderbirds past the Eagles.

Jay Barth added nine points for Indian Springs, which trailed 12-11 at the half.

Moses Valencia led GV Christian with 17 points. Daemein Hargrove added 12 points, and Gregory Fields scored 10 for the Eagles.

Coral Academy 71, Aussie Travelers (Australia) 33 — Isaiah Spears led all scorers with 25 points as the Falcons topped the Aussie Travelers.

Zachary Hammer added 12 points, Ty Bride had 11 points, and Adam Abdalla scored 10 points for Coral Academy.
