BOYS BASKETBALL: Leavitt, Bulldogs edge Eagles

Garrett Leavitt went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter Thursday to help Virgin Valley’s boys basketball team hold on for a 44-41 win over visiting Boulder City.
Leavitt led all scorers with 16 points.
Boulder City had a chance to tie the game, but a 3-point shot in the final seconds bounced off the rim, and the Bulldogs’ DeVonte Milligan grabbed the rebound to secure the win.
Dee Bowler added 13 points, and Milligan had seven points and 12 rebounds for Virgin Valley.
Tyler Newby had 12 points for the Eagles.
Cimarron-Memorial 78, Bonanza 59 — At Cimarron, Tony Harrison had 26 points and 16 rebounds to help the Spartans top the Bengals.
Kyle Skurow added 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Austin Garrison scored 12 for Cimarron, which got 10 points from Amani Gill.
Jamal Logan led Bonanza with 21 points, and teammate DeAndre Hicks scored 15.
Centennial 63, Desert Oasis 42 — At Centennial, Khalil Thompson scored 16 points, and Troy Brown had 15 points to lead the Bulldogs over the Diamondbacks.
Aaron Turner chipped in seven points for Centennial, which used a 23-5 first-quarter burst to pull away.
Deric Hammock and Jay Esguerra each supplied 10 points for Desert Oasis.
Sunrise Mountain 47, Moapa Valley 37 — At Sunrise Mountain, Damon Heard had 23 points and five assists to propel the Miners past the Pirates.
Malik Cannon provided six points and 10 rebounds for Sunrise Mountain, which used a 12-6 first-quarter run to its advantage.
Justin Hughes had 11 points for Moapa Valley.
Bishop Gorman 57, Legacy 29 — At Legacy, Noah Robotham had 11 points, and the Gaels scored the game’s first 17 points on their way to a win over the Longhorns.
Chase Jeter and Stephen Zimmerman each had nine points for Gorman, which had 12 players score.
Christian Solis led Legacy with six points.
Cheyenne 65, Western 40 — At Western, Dominic Jackson-Anasson had 18 points to help the Desert Shields down the Warriors.
Rayvon Grier added 16 points for Cheyenne, which used a 20-6 third-quarter spurt to put the game away.
Clark 60, Faith Lutheran 34 — At Faith Lutheran, Darius Jackson had 13 points to lead the Chargers by the Crusaders.
The Chargers used runs of 17-2 in the first quarter and 23-8 in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Mitch Fulfer had 13 points, and Clayton Holthaus added 12 points for Faith Lutheran.
Desert Pines 70, Chaparral 25 — At Chaparral, Nate Grimes had 22 points as the Jaguars routed the Cowboys.
Malik Davis added 11 points, and Kevin Butler scored 10 for Desert Pines, which led 67-23 after three quarters.
Tyree McNeal had 10 points for Chaparral.
Mojave 90, Pahrump Valley 38 — At Mojave, the Rattlers hit 11 3-pointers and routed the Trojans.
Darryl Adams scored 15 points to lead six Mojave players in double figures.
Chrishawn Thomas (14), Melvin Irvey (13), Jalen Cunningham (12), Malik Abbott (11) and Kemario Williams (11) also scored in double digits for the Rattlers, who led 32-9 after one quarter and 60-23 at the half.
Devon Montgomery scored 15 for Pahrump.
