BOYS BASKETBALL: Leslie’s free throws help Diamondbacks top Miners

Kodi Leslie scored 17 points, including two free throws with 30 seconds left Tuesday, to lift Desert Oasis’ boys basketball team to a 59-56 win over visiting Sunrise Mountain.

Deric Hammock added 17 points for the Diamondbacks, who rallied from a 34-20 halftime deficit. Teammate Jay Esguerra had nine points and eight assists.

Damon Heard led the Miners with 16 points.

Sierra Vista 94, Cimarron-Memorial 75 — At Sierra Vista, Dominique Marcy posted a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds, and the Mountain Lions used a big fourth quarter to pull away from the Spartans.

Apollo Corley finished with 16 points, and Christian Tirol added 15 for Sierra Vista, which outscored Cimarron 33-14 in the fourth quarter. Mikko Balmes (14 points), Nino Flores (13 points) and Giovanni Santana (11 points) were also in double figures for the Mountain Lions.

Tony Harrison poured in a game-high 21 points to lead Cimarron. Austin Garrison had 16 points, and Amani Gill chipped in with 14 points as the Spartans used a 33-point third quarter to tie the game at 61-61 following a slow start.

Basic 55, Green Valley 54 — At Green Valley, Antraye Johnson scored 19 points as the Wolves nipped the Gators.

Josh Villaros added 16 points for Basic.

Kris Nicholas had 14 points, and Troy Cropper scored 11 for Green Valley, which got 15 rebounds from Tyrell Crosby.

Canyon Springs 95, Durango 83 — At Durango, Jordan Davis poured in 20 points, and Shaquile Carr had 15 points to lead the Pioneers over the Trailblazers.

Chris Nelson scored 14 points, and Gerad Davis and Darrell McCall each added 10 points for Canyon Springs.

Darryl Gaynor tallied 33 points to lead Durango, which also got 16 points from Vee Price.

Desert Pines 52, Cheyenne 49 — At Cheyenne, Timothy Jeffries scored 14 points, and the Jaguars used a 12-6 fourth-quarter run to edge the Desert Shields.

Nate Grimes had 11 points, and Ra’meake Keith added 10 points for Desert Pines.

Jaeln McEaddy scored 12 points, and Jarrell Bell supplied 11 points to lead Cheyenne.

Arbor View 89, Legacy 50 — At Legacy, Terrell Butler scored 11 of his 28 points during a 28-6 first-quarter run that propelled the Aggies by the Longhorns.

Charles Porter added 17 points, and Corey Moore scored 12 for Arbor View. Justin Burks had 10 points for the Aggies, who went 36 of 52 from the free-throw line.

Anthony Madden had 16 points, and Jacob Rainey scored 13 for Legacy.

Bishop Gorman 64, Faith Lutheran 36 — At Faith Lutheran, Noah Robotham scored 12 points, and Stephen Zimmerman added 11 points as the Gaels downed the Crusaders.

Nick Blair supplied 10 points for Gorman, which led 8-4 after one quarter and exploded with 24 second-quarter points to lead 32-14 at halftime.

Mitch Fulfer scored 12 points for Faith Lutheran.

Silverado 70, Virgin Valley 54 — At Silverado, Joe Baldi poured in 26 points, and Isaiah Glover added 15 points to help lead the Skyhawks past the Bulldogs.

Jason Matthew had nine points, and Austin Hunt and Rohan Walters each added seven points for Silverado, which got six assists from Raven Russell.

Garrett Leavitt scored 20 points to lead Virgin Valley, which also got 12 points from Dee Bowler.

Valley 79, Del Sol 36 — At Valley, Spencer Mathis had 20 points and 12 rebounds to help the Vikings cruise past the Dragons.

Shea Garland added 15 points and 12 rebounds for Valley, which led 51-15 at halftime. Teammate Cameron Burton had 12 points and 13 assists.

Rashaun Lawson and Kyle Collins had nine points apiece to lead Del Sol.

Spring Valley 65, Tech 47 — At Spring Valley, the Grizzlies snapped a 22-game losing streak by using a 31-12 game-ending run to top the Roadrunners.

Crawford Linden had 15 points, and Alfonso Sanchez-Guzman added 11 points for Tech.

Bonanza 63, Pahrump Valley 20 — At Bonanza, Ryan Glasper had 13 points and seven rebounds to lead the Bengals past the Trojans.

DeAndre Hicks also scored 13 points for Bonanza, and teammate DaVonta Price added 10 points, four rebounds and three steals.

Jerrod Richardson and Devon Montgomery scored four points apiece to lead Pahrump Valley.

Centennial 75, Desert Hills (Utah) 65 — At Centennial, Khalil Thompson scored 21 points to lead four players in double figures as the Bulldogs turned back the Thunder.

Eddie Davis scored 13 points, Rayquan Stewart had 12 points, and Garrett Scheer supplied 10 points and six rebounds for Centennial, which trailed 15-14 after one quarter but rebounded with a 28-12 second-quarter advantage.

Desert Hills got 12 points from Quincy Matthews.

Laughlin 42, Spring Mountain 39 — At Saville Middle School, Quinton Love fired in 25 points to help rally the Cougars past the Golden Eagles.

Devonte Richey had 14 points to lead Spring Mountain.

Mountain View JV 50, Indian Springs 9 — At Indian Springs, Bernard Williams scored 12 points as the Saints’ junior varsity routed the Thunderbirds.

Nino Alvarez had five points to lead Indian Springs.
