BOYS BASKETBALL: McKeever, Rams rally by Gators in Southeast showdown

Rancho’s David McKeever scored 23 points and converted two late steals into baskets to help the Rams rally for a 57-53 home win over Green Valley on Friday.

The Rams trailed 53-52 late in the game when McKeever converted two Chrys Jackson steals in to buckets to give Rancho the lead.

Ryan Hafen then sank a free throw to close out the win.

Lamont Traylor had 10 points and 19 rebounds for Rancho.

Kelvin Omojola scored 15 points to lead the Gators, and teammate Romello Jones added 13 points.

Mojave 49, Legacy 46 — At Legacy, Jordan Glenn scored 13 points as the Rattlers held on to down the Longhorns.

Malik Abbott scored 12 points, and Darryl Adams added 10 points for the Rattlers.

The Longhorns had an opportunity to tie the game with four seconds remaining, but Mojave forced a turnover to hang onto the lead.

Brody Olenslager scored 17 points to lead the Longhorns. Jacob Rainey and Shakir Arrey each added 10 points for Legacy.

Arbor View 62, Cimarron-Memorial 56 — At Cimarron, Trent Hunt scored 26 points to lead the Aggies over the Spartans.

Rashaad Thomas and Matthew Cruz each added 14 points for Arbor View.

Terrell Walker had 13 points, and Jeremiah Broussard scored 11 to lead Cimarron.

Foothill 58, Eldorado 50 — At Foothill, Torrance Littles had 20 points to lead the Falcons over the Sundevils.

Colin Curi added 14 points for Foothill, which outscored Eldorado 39-15 in the middle quarters and led 50-31 after three quarters.

Carl Crayon scored 20 to lead Eldorado.

Boulder City 45, Moapa Valley 42 — At Boulder City, Tyler Newby scored 19 points to lead the Eagles past the Pirates.

The Pirates closed the first half on a 20-0 run to take a 25-22 lead at the break.

However, the Eagles held the Pirates to 17 second-half points. The Pirates had a chance to tie the game three times in the final 10 seconds, but the Boulder City defense held on for the win.

Nate Cox led the Pirates with 12 points, and teammate Andrew Huerta scored 10.

Coronado 79, Basic 54 — At Coronado, Jake DesJardins had 18 points and 10 rebounds to help the Cougars beat the Wolves.

Nick Kornieck added 17 points, and Travis Boman had eight points and 10 rebounds for Coronado, which led 39-23 at halftime.

Basic’s Jared Meacham had 20 points, and teammate Josh Villaros scored 13.

Las Vegas 81, Silverado 43 — At Silverado, Tyler Bey had a game-high 21 points to lead the Wildcats to a win over the Skyhawks.

Patrick Savoy added 14 points, and Devon Colley scored 12 for Las Vegas, which outscored Silverado 26-6 in the third quarter after leading 39-24 at halftime.

Jireh Johnson led Silverado with 14 points.

Canyon Springs 91, Liberty 56 — At Liberty, Jordan Davis and Channel Banks each scored 20 points as the Pioneers routed the Patriots.

D’Quan Crockett added 19 points, and Maurice Hunter scored 10 for Canyon Springs, which led 50-26 at halftime.

Liberty’s Tai Senior had a game-high 21 points, and teammate Ed O’Bannon scored 15.

Desert Pines 82, Sunrise Mountain 49 — At Sunrise Mountain, Trevon Abdullah had a game-high 25 points to lead the Jaguars by the Miners.

Capri Uzan added 20 points, and Coby Myles scored 16 for Desert Pines, which led 41-26 at halftime.

Sunrise Mountain’s Damon Heard had 22 points, and Trellis Quinn scored 11 for the Miners.

Valley 70, Tech 13 — At Valley, Zach Day had 15 points and the Vikings routed the Roadrunners.

Shea Garland added 13 points for Valley, which led 22-2 after one quarter.

Lincoln County 47, Needles 44 — At Panaca, Derek Shumway led all scorers with 22 points and the Lynx outscored the Mustangs 9-6 in overtime to get the win.

McClain O’Connor added 15 points for Lincoln County, which went 14-for-17 from the free-throw line.

Needles’ Trenton Poe-Evans and Victor Ochoa each scored 11 points, and Devin Darrow scored 10 for the Mustangs.

Agassi Prep 95, Mountain View 55 — At Agassi Prep, Deishuan Booker had 46 points and 10 assists as the Stars rolled past the Saints.

Jordan Smith and Dennis Walker each added 10 points for Agassi Prep.

Tevin Grey and Connor LeBoeuf each scored 14 points to lead Mountain View.

Calvary Chapel 66, Lake Mead 40 — At Lake Mead, Matthew Harney scored 24 points to lead the Lions over the Eagles.

Garion Glenn led Lake Mead with 14 points.

Pahranagat Valley 41, Indian Springs 15 — At Indian Springs, Geoff Mortensen and Christian Higbee each scored seven points to help the Panthers past the Thunderbirds.

The Panthers started the game on a 19-2 run.

Sebastian Smith scored six points to lead Indian Springs.

Spring Mountain 71, Liberty Baptist 42 — At Liberty Baptist, Steven Jones had 19 points as the Golden Eagles rolled to the win.

Jordan Griffin led Liberty Baptist with 14 points.

The top four Class 5A boys basketball teams — Coronado, Liberty, Bishop Gorman and Arbor View — will play for the state title Thursday and Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
