BOYS BASKETBALL: McNeal’s shot gives Cowboys last-second win

Chaparral’s Tyree McNeal hit a pull-up jumper from the free-throw line as time expired to lift the visiting Cowboys to a 53-51 win over Moapa Valley on Friday at Overton.

McNeal finished the game with 13 points. Maharie Trotter had 10 points for the Cowboys.

Bunker Wimer led the Pirates with 20 points. Justin Hughes had 12 points, while Lance Hilton added 10 points for Moapa Valley.

Centennial 82, Basic 71 — At Basic, Khalil Thompson scored 28 points, including five 3-pointers, and Troy Brown added 27 points and 13 rebounds as the Bulldogs downed the Wolves.

The Bulldogs also went 30-for-47 from the free-throw line, while Basic made 11-for-19.

Jared Meacham had seven 3-pointers and 23 points for the Wolves.

Mojave 75, Legacy 66 — At Mojave, Darryl Adams and Malik Abbott each scored 16 points to lead the Rattlers over the Longhorns.

Abbott also added 12 rebounds, and Kemario Williams had 14 points for Mojave.

Jacob Rainey paced the Longhorns with 17 points. Christian Solis had 11 points for Legacy, which also got 10 points apiece from Deshaun Hilliard and Anthony Madden.

Shadow Ridge 71, Silverado 53 — At Silverado, Cameren Berube and Preston Echols each scored 20 points to lead the Mustangs past the Skyhawks.

Serph Decker added 10 points for Shadow Ridge, which led 32-16 at the half.

Joe Baldi led Silverado with 22 points.

Bonanza 65, Rancho 51 — At Rancho, Davian Jordan had 11 points and 10 rebounds to lift the Bengals over the Rams.

Jamal Logan added 12 points, and D.J. Fletcher scored 11 for Bonanza.

David McKeever finished with 18 points for Rancho.

Arbor View 77, Coronado 66 — At Coronado, Charles Porter led four Aggies in double figures with 19 points as they downed the Cougars.

Justin Burks (17), Terrell Butler (11) and Tristan Lacy (10) also scored in double digits for Arbor View.

Austin Morgan led Coronado with 21 points, and teammate Eddie Austin scored 14.

Durango 90, Spring Valley 65 — At Durango, Darryl Gaynor had 24 points and six assists as the Trailblazers blew by the Grizzlies.

Alex Arias had 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Drew Hammond added 16 points for Durango, which also got 13 points from Vee Price.

DeVante Moten led four Grizzlies in double-figures with 15 points. Carl Albert scored 14 points, Travis Walton 13 and Ryan Goecke 12 for Spring Valley.

Palo Verde 75, Cheyenne 51 — At Palo Verde, the Panthers opened the game with a 27-5 run and routed the Desert Shields.

Billy Sparks led Palo Verde with 15 points, and Braxton Richard scored 11.

Jarrell Bell led Cheyenne with 21 points.

Boulder City 56, Tech 41 — At Boulder City, Tyler Newby had 11 points, and Brooks Roe scored 10 to lead the Eagles over the Roadrunners.

Jeremiah Dancel scored 15 points for Tech.

Del Sol 58, Western 21 — At Del Sol, Kyle Collins scored 12 points to help the Dragons cruise past the Warriors.

Brian Greer and Jonross Juhas each added 10 points for Del Sol, which led 37-10 at halftime.

Da’Twan Bates led Western with six points.

Faith Lutheran 63, Cimarron-Memorial 42 — At Cimarron, Clayton Holthaus scored 18 points and Mitch Fulfer 17 as the Crusaders rolled past the Spartans.

Tony Harrison led Cimarron with 18 points.

Valley 68, Pahrump Valley 36 — At Pahrump, Spencer Mathis had 15 points, and Taveon Jackson scored 13 as the Vikings rolled past the Trojans.

Cameron Burton added 10 points for Valley, which stormed to a 45-15 halftime advantage.

Rudy Uresti led Pahrump with seven points.

Desert Pines 71, Sunrise Mountain 25 — At Sunrise Mountain, Capri Uzan led all scorers with 20 points as the Jaguars downed the Miners.

Re’meake Keith added 19 points for Desert Pines, which also got 11 points from Nate Grimes.

Sunrise Mountain’s Malik Cannon had eight points.

Elko 63, Green Valley 49 — At Green Valley, Nathan Klekas scored 22 points to help the Indians beat the Gators.

Kris Nicholas and Christopher Miller scored 10 points apiece to lead Green Valley, which faltered after jumping to a 13-9 first-quarter lead.

Mountain View 36, Laughlin 34 — At Laughlin, Connor LeBoeuf nailed an off-balance layup at the final buzzer to lift the Saints over the Cougars.

LeBoeuf finished with 14 points to lead Mountain View, and teammate Tevin Gray added nine points.

Corey Anderson scored 16 points to lead Laughlin.

Needles 50, Calvary Chapel 37 — At Calvary Chapel, Cody Tobler scored 17 points to help the Mustangs rally for a victory over the Lions.

Wyatt Upshaw added 15 points for Needles, which battled back after trailing 30-28 at the end of three quarters.

Quentin Hank led Calvary Chapel with 12 points, and teammate Matthew Harney added 11 points.

Sandy Valley 62, Lund 16 — At Sandy Valley, Lane Eastham’s 19 points helped the Sidewinders to an easy victory over the Mustangs.

James Rau scored 12 points for Sandy Valley, which led 37-4 at the break.
