BOYS BASKETBALL: Palo Verde stuns Arbor View on James Camp’s late layup

James Camp scored on a layup with six seconds remaining Thursday to give Palo Verde’s boys basketball team a 56-55 victory over host Arbor View.

Joshua Darling led the Panthers with 13 points, while Crew Patterson added 11 points for Palo Verde. Camp finished the game with eight points.

The Panthers took a 43-36 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Aggies rallied to take a 55-54 lead late in the fourth quarter. However, an Aggies turnover led to Camp’s game-winning layup.

Comillion Smith scored 18 points to lead the Aggies, while Jarrod Burks added 17 points.

Clark 74, Canyon Springs 57 — At Canyon Springs, Trey Woodbury scored 24 points to help power the Chargers past the Pioneers.

James Bridges had 19 points, and Antwon Jackson added 10 for Clark, which used a 24-12 fourth-quarter spurt to pull away.

Christopher Hawkins scored 19 points, Elbert Bibbs had 13, and Joseph Haulcy supplied 10 points to pace Canyon Springs.

Foothill 69, Silverado 61 — At Foothill, Marvin Coleman tallied 17 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists to help lift the Falcons over the Skyhawks.

Jace Roquemore scored 13 points, and teammate Mauricio Smith supplied 10 points for Foothill, which used a 26-16 third quarter to take control.

Devin Ross scored 20 points, and Dajon Keeling had 13 points to lead Silverado.

Green Valley 60, Liberty 51 — At Green Valley, Matthew Tuttle scored a game-high 23 points to lift the Gators over the Patriots.

Cameron Bower added eight points, and Hunter Hitchcock had seven points and 14 rebounds for Green Valley, which led 35-25 at halftime.

Dyllan Robinson had 17 points, and Cameron Burist scored 11 for Liberty.

Coronado 73, Basic 54 — At Basic, Kennedy Koehler scored 16 of his game-high 22 points in the first quarter, and the Cougars built a 42-22 halftime lead en route to a win over the Wolves.

Trey Hurlburt added 17 points, and Will Weems scored 15 for Coronado, which went 20-for-35 from the free-throw line.

B.J. Wilson and Geoff Faries each scored 14 points for Basic.

Centennial 67, Legacy 20 — At Centennial, Isaiah Banks scored 16 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Longhorns.

Ishon Hardin scored 15 points, and Troy Brown added 10 points for Centennial, which outscored Legacy 29-9 in the first quarter to take control of the game.

Chris White scored five points to lead the Longhorns.

Mojave 80, Pahrump Valley 49 — At Pahrump, John Harper had 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists to lead the Rattlers over the Trojans.

Isaiah Harper had 16 points for Mojave and Tyrique Watson scored 15.

Antonio Fortin, James Voshall and Parker Hart each scored 10 to lead the Trojans.

Cheyenne 66, Western 48 — At Western, D’Andre Houston led three double-figure scorers with 15 points to help the Desert Shields by the Warriors.

Kavon Williams had 14 points, and Dewayne Alexander scored 13 for Cheyenne, which led 42-20 at halftime.

Kwan Carter led Western with 20 points.

Desert Pines 74, Sunrise Mountain 41 — At Desert Pines, Trevon Abdullah-Booker scored 20 points, pulled down 16 rebounds and had five blocks to lead the Jaguars in a rout of the Miners.

Capri Uzan scored 17 points and dished out six assists for the Jaguars, who blew the game open by outscoring the Miners 24-8 in the third quarter.

Javell Watkins added 12 points for Desert Pines.

Daltyn Pytrysson scored 13 points to lead the Miners.

Lake Mead 55, Calvary Chapel 36 — At Calvary Chapel, Shay Rutledge scored 15 points to help the Eagles down the Lions.

Kaiaokumulani Madela added 13 points for Lake Mead, which outscored Calvary Chapel 38-25 in the second half.

Elijah Martinez scored 17 points to lead the Lions.

Spring Mountain 75, Word of Life 72 — At Indian Springs, Jaylon McKenzie had 30 points, and the Golden Eagles edged the Eagles in double overtime.

Anthony Garrett added 17 points for Spring Mountain.

Ivan Candolesas led Word of Life with 21 points. Jared House had 18 points, Isaac Lopez had 13 points, and Darnell Murrell scored 10 for the Eagles.

Innovations International 72, GV Christian 20 — At Innovations International, Justin Evans led the way with 16 points and seven rebounds as the Ambassadors rolled past the Eagles.

Derec Anderson had 16 points and five assists for Innovations International, and teammate Jordan Allison had 13 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Needles 55, Mohave Accelerated (Ariz.) 30 — At Bullhead City, Arizona, Dillon Darrow scored nine points, pulled down six rebounds, dished out five assists and had four steals to lead the Mustangs past the Patriots.

Marcus Mills and Lenny McCord also scored nine points each for Needles, which lead 28-16 at halftime.

Liberty Baptist 60, Somerset-Sky Pointe 57 — At Liberty Baptist, Seth Sullivan poured in 37 points to lead Liberty Baptist to a win over Somerset-Sky Pointe.

Trevor Campbell added 10 points for Liberty Baptist, which used a 20-10 second-quarter run to lead 31-27 at halftime.

Brenden Sanford led Somerset-Sky Pointe with 16 points. Gabe Wells added 12 points for Somerset, and teammate Preston Davis scored 10.
