BOYS BASKETBALL: Panthers nail clutch free throws to down Trailblazers

Grant Dressler poured in 29 points, and Palo Verde’s boys basketball team nailed four straight free throws in the final minute to edge visiting Durango 79-75 on Tuesday.

Taylor Miller scored 16 points, including the final two free throws for the Panthers, and teammate Ja Morgan added 16 points.

Victor Ross had 21 points, and Apollo Corley scored 18 for Durango, which led by one point entering the fourth quarter but was outscored 30-25 the rest of the way.

Michael Diggins had 11 points, and Alex Tarkanian tallied 10 points for the Trailblazers.

Bishop Gorman 70, Legacy 39 — At Gorman, Chase Jeter scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Gaels cruised past the Longhorns.

Stephen Zimmerman had nine points and six assists for Gorman, which got nine points each from Ugo Amadi, Charles O’Bannon and Nick Blair. Richie Thornton dished out eight assists for the Gaels, who led 35-16 at halftime.

Legacy got seven points each from D’Angelo Lindsey, Brody Olenslager, Anthone Searcy and Edward Vaughns.

Green Valley 65, Eldorado 54 — At Eldorado, Romello Jones had 28 points to help the Gators top the Sundevils.

Isiah Macklin added nine points for Green Valley, which used a 23-13 second quarter burst to take control.

Carl Crayon had 28 points, and Treyveon Wilson added 12 points for Eldorado.

Sierra Vista 55, Western 41 — At Western, Maka Ellis scored 11 of his 23 points in overtime to lead the Mountain Lions by the Warriors.

Ellis was 9-for-9 from the free-throw line in overtime. Jasper Cook added 16 points for Sierra Vista.

Wyatt Rozea led Western with 13 points.

Faith Lutheran 63, Spring Valley 34 — At Faith Lutheran, Gary Tharaldson scored a game-high 16 points, and Bryce Neagle added 15 points to power the Crusaders by the Grizzlies.

Ben Sison and Curtis Owens scored six points apiece for Spring Valley.

Clark 62, Pahrump Valley 24 — At Clark, Colby Jackson led a balanced scoring attack with 12 points as the Chargers sped past the Trojans.

Ty’Rek Wells and Carter Olsen scored 10 points each for Clark, which held a 25-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. James Bridges and Darius Jackson supplied nine points apiece for the Chargers.

T.J. Milk scored eight points for Pahrump Valley.

Mojave 49, Cheyenne 22 — At Cheyenne, Jordan Glenn had 17 points, and Daryl Adams scored 15 as the Rattlers put the clamps on the Desert Shields.

Ulises Santillan paced Cheyenne with 10 points.

Del Sol 58, Virgin Valley 52 — At Mesquite, Brian Greer led four double-figure scorers with 16 points as the Dragons outlasted the Bulldogs.

Jonathan Spearman and JonRoss Juhas each had 12 points, and Rashaun Lawson scored 10 for Del Sol, which trailed 15-10 after the first quarter but outscored Virgin Valley 35-24 in the middle quarters.

Zach Barnum led Virgin Valley with 15 points.

Desert Pines 74, Sunrise Mountain 42 — At Desert Pines, Trevon Abdullah had 21 points and 17 rebounds as the Jaguars routed the Miners.

Coby Myles added 20 points, and Capri Uzan recorded 17 points, 10 assists and two steals for Desert Pines, which led 34-15 at halftime.

Damon Heard led Sunrise Mountain with 12 points, and teammate Trellis Quinn scored 10.

Boulder City 65, Tech 31 — At Tech, Peyton Koopman scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Eagles to an easy win over the Roadrunners.

Tyler Newby added 15 points, and Tyler Hinson scored 14 for Boulder City, which led 34-18 at halftime.

Elijah Wesley had 16 points, and Paul Galang scored 12 for Tech.

Chaparral 73, Moapa Valley 54 — At Overton, Marc Silas poured in 24 points to help the Cowboys romp past the Pirates.

Edgar Ramirez had nine points, and Samuel Porras and Jerome Williamson supplied eight points each as 10 players scored for Chaparral.

Nate Cox scored 18 points to lead Moapa Valley.

Agassi Prep 80, Mountain View 58 — At Mountain View, Deishuan Booker finished with 27 points, and the Stars used a 27-10 second-quarter run to stop the Saints.

Dennis Walker added 12 points for Agassi Prep.

Connor LeBoeuf had 24 points, seven rebounds and five assists to lead Mountain View. Tyrell Brooks added 12 points, and Terrence Brooks scored 11 for the Saints.

Needles 48, Lake Mead 34 — At Lake Mead, Trenton Poe-Evans and Cody Tobler scored 13 points apiece, and the Mustangs used a 17-4 run in the first quarter to ground the Eagles.

Devin Darrow added 10 points for Needles.

Dylan Graham led Lake Mead with 12 points.

Calvary Chapel 76, Laughlin 35 — At Calvary Chapel, Matthew Harney notched 21 points and 12 rebounds to power the Lions past the Cougars.

Cameron Varela had 15 points, and Matthew Urbanski added 10 points for Calvary Chapel, which led 32-7 after the first quarter.

Corey Anderson paced Laughlin with 20 points.

Word of Life 67, Adelson School 66 — At Adelson School, Elijah Hoye scored 27 points, including the game-winning 14-footer with three seconds left, to lift the Eagles by the Lions.

Rom Izkovich’s layup gave Adelson School a 66-65 lead with 12 seconds left. Hoye then put the Eagles ahead, and the Lions’ last-second shot attempt hit the air-conditioning unit.

Trent McCall added 18 points, and Caleb Murphy scored 12 for Word of Life, which trailed 51-42 after three quarters.

Jake Buchman had 21 points, and Izkovich scored 13 for Adelson School.

Spring Mountain 67, Beaver Dam (Ariz.) 37 — At Saville Middle School, Steve Jones had 34 points to power the Golden Eagles past the Diamondbacks.

Maurice Stitt added 10 points for Spring Mountain, which outscored Beaver Dam 28-17 in the second quarter to take a 37-28 lead.

Eddy Castro led the Diamondbacks with 13 points, and teammate Carlos Sherrill scored 10.
