BOYS BASKETBALL: Romero’s big night helps Del Sol top Pirates

Eduardo Romero had 16 points and 15 rebounds Tuesday to help Del Sol’s boys basketball team to a 57-48 victory over visiting Moapa Valley.

Brian Greer scored 11 points for the Dragons, who trailed 28-24 at halftime and outscored Moapa Valley 14-7 in the third quarter to take control.

Justin Hughes had 14 points for the Pirates.

Sunrise Mountain 54, Western 51 — At Sunrise Mountain, Trellis Quinn scored eight of his 10 points in the fourth quarter as the Miners held off the Warriors.

Damon Heard scored 12 points to lead Sunrise Mountain, which also got 10 points from Daquwan Doyle and eight rebounds and five points from Malik Cannon.

Deaven Klepek poured in 19 points, and Wyatt Rozea chipped in with 14 points for Western.

Canyon Springs 99, Palo Verde 76 — At Palo Verde, Gerad Davis scored 27 points as the Pioneers defeated the Panthers.

Jordan Davis added 19 points for Canyon Springs, which outscored Palo Verde 31-14 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

Darrell McCall had 15 points, and Shaquile Carr scored 13 for the Pioneers.

Billy Sparks scored 18 points to lead the Panthers. Ja Morgan added 14 points, and Braxton Richards scored 12 for Palo Verde.

Silverado 52, Eldorado 47 — At Silverado, the Skyhawks scored six points in the final minute to rally past the Sundevils.

Isaiah Glover had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Silverado. Teammate Kris Coe scored nine points and had a key steal that turned momentum late in the game.

D’Quan Crockett scored 19 points to lead Eldorado, which battled back from a deficit to take a 47-46 lead with just a minute remaining.

Centennial 65, Shadow Ridge 51 — At Shadow Ridge, Troy Brown had 19 points to lead the Bulldogs over the Mustangs.

Garrett Scheer supplied 15 points, and Eddie Davis had 10 points for Centennial, which used a 23-11 fourth quarter to pull away.

Serph Decker had 26 points for Shadow Ridge.

Foothill 64, Green Valley 57 — At Foothill, Matt Rapp scored 20 points to help the Falcons hold off the Gators.

Jalen Shepard had 12 points and nine assists for Foothill, which pulled away with free throws late in the fourth.

Brandon Burke led Green Valley with 15 points, and teammate Troy Cropper scored 12.

Coronado 83, Spring Valley 68 — At Coronado, Eddie Austin scored 16 points, and Austin Morgan tallied 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists as the Cougars downed the Grizzlies.

Nick Kornieck had 12 points, and Marcus Sobaszek scored 11 for Coronado, which led 23-7 after one quarter. Trey Austin had seven points, seven rebounds and six assists for Coronado.

DeVante Moten had 23 points, and Ryan Goecke scored 12 for Spring Valley, which also got 11 points from Terrell Lee.

Legacy 61, Basic 48 — At Basic, Deshaun Hilliard racked up 19 points to propel the Longhorns to victory over the Wolves.

Christian Solis and Jacob Rainey each supplied 12 points for Legacy, which jumped out to a 29-17 halftime lead.

Jared Meacham scored 13 points for Basic.

Virgin Valley 54, Pahranagat Valley 31 — At Alamo, Nathan Hughes scored 16 points, and the Bulldogs never looked back after starting the game on a 16-5 run.

Dee Bowler added 13 points for Virgin Valley.

Wade Leavitt and Tabor Maxwell had seven points apiece for the Panthers.

Spring Mountain 45, Beatty 23 — At Saville Middle School, Harlow Hawkins scored nine points to lift the Golden Eagles over the Hornets.

Joshua Banasiak added eight points for Spring Mountain, which held a 21-8 halftime lead.

Beatty’s Jacob Zamora led all scorers with 11 points.

Adelson School 66, Lake Mead 41 — At Adelson School, Sean Perry poured in 20 points, and Jake Buchman contributed 18 points to give the Lions a victory over the Eagles.

Francis Ventura added 11 points for Adelson School, which jumped out to a 31-19 halftime lead.

Hunter Harris led Lake Mead with nine points.
