BOYS BASKETBALL: Trailer’s 3-pointer lifts Aggies over Wolves

Cameron Trailer nailed a 3-pointer from the right wing with two seconds remaining Wednesday to lift Arbor View's boys basketball team to a 54-52 road win over Basic.

Trailer scored six of his 10 points in the quarter for the Aggies, who trailed 38-33 heading into the fourth quarter and were down by three points with 1:04 left.

Jesse Vogel led Arbor View with 13 points, and teammate Jarrod Burks scored seven.

Christopher Dominguez scored 23 points for Basic, which shot 28-for-47 from the free-throw line.

Cimarron-Memorial 55, Valley 43 — At Cimarron, Demarco Alexander had 18 points, seven rebounds and three steals to guide the Spartans to victory over the Vikings.

LaRon Young added nine points for Cimarron, which led 28-17 at the half.

Seneca Mitchell had 11 points, and teammate Juan Magana scored 10 for Valley.

Sierra Vista 66, Pahrump Valley 28 — At Sierra Vista, Maka Ellis had 19 points, and the Mountain Lions jumped out to a 52-14 halftime lead and routed the Trojans.

Chris McCoy added 13 points, Maui SerraJosef had 11 points and Jasper Cook scored 10 for Sierra Vista.

Danny Foss scored 21 points for Pahrump.

The Meadows 64, Needles 25 — At Needles, Calif., Max Hisatake had 25 points as The Meadows routed Needles.

Ethan Fridman aded 12 points, and Jake Epstein and Asheesh Chopra each scored 10 for The Meadows.

Irving Juarez led Needles with seven points.

Coral Academy 76, Agassi Prep 65 — At Agassi Prep, Isaiah Spears scored 24 points, and teammate Ryan Dijino had 18 points to help the Falcons defeat the Stars.

Brennan Rosales added 14 points, and Kaleb Robinson scored 13 points for Coral Academy, which used a 31-13 second-quarter spurt to pull away.

Akeemis Williams led Agassi Prep with 23 points.

Indian Springs 39, Laughlin JV 27 — At Indian Springs, Sebastian Smith scored 10 points to guide the Thunderbirds to a win over the Cougars' junior varsity.

Jay Barth added eight points for Indian Springs, which used a 12-0 fourth quarter to pull away.

The top four Class 5A boys basketball teams — Coronado, Liberty, Bishop Gorman and Arbor View — will play for the state title Thursday and Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
