BOYS BASKETBALL: Walker, Spartans outlast Mountain Lions

Terrell Walker scored a game-high 26 points to lead Cimarron-Memorial’s boys basketball team to a 72-65 win over host Sierra Vista.

Kieron Hatchett had 12 points, and Jaron Ponder and Derek Morefield added 10 points apiece for Cimarron, which led 53-48 after three quarters.

Maka Ellis had 19 points, and Randal Grimes added 15 points for Sierra Vista. Payton Dickerson supplied 14 points, and Davion Hills scored 11 for the Mountain Lions.

Faith Lutheran 52, Spring Valley 42 — At Spring Valley, Zach Friel and Bryce Neagle scored 12 points each to lead the Crusaders past the Grizzlies.

Jaylen Fox added 11 points for Faith Lutheran.

Jalen Cannon scored 14 points, and Ryan Goecke added 11 points for Spring Valley.

Mojave 75, Palo Verde 67 — At Palo Verde, Daryl Adams scored 19 points to help the Rattlers top the Panthers.

Malik Abbott and Jordan Glenn each had 16 points, and Chrishawn Thomas scored 11 for Mojave, which led only 51-49 entering the fourth quarter.

Grant Dressler led Palo Verde with 21 points. Connor Lemmon had 18 points, and Taylor Miller scored 14 for the Panthers.

Bonanza 74, Pahrump Valley 54 — At Pahrump, DaVonta Price had 24 points to power the Bengals past the Trojans.

John Holden added 16 points, and Jamal Logan scored 13 for Bonanza, which led 56-38 after three quarters.

Daniel Foss had 21 points for Pahrump, which also got 11 points and eight rebounds from Parker Hart.

Shadow Ridge 62, Moapa Valley 38 — At Shadow Ridge, Jerell Springer and Melvin Johnson scored 12 points apiece to lead the Mustangs past the Pirates.

Juwan Johnson added nine points for Shadow Ridge, which led 22-7 after the first quarter.

Jay Mortensen led Moapa Valley with 13 points.

Canyon Springs 86, Silverado 52 — At Silverado, Jordan Davis poured in 33 points, and the Pioneers used a 32-9 third-quarter run to rout the Skyhawks.

D’Quan Crockett had 17 points, and Channel Banks scored 11 for Canyon Springs, which only led 31-29 at halftime.

Tyric Johnson led Silverado with 10 points.

Clark 67, Western 21 — At Western, Ty’Rek Wells and Carter Olsen each scored 12 points as the Chargers routed the Warriors.

Colby Jackson added 11 points for Clark, which led 39-14 at halftime.

John Swayzer and Wyatt Rozea each had seven points for Western.

Calvary Chapel 56, Lake Mead 38 — At Calvary Chapel, Matthew Harney had 24 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Lions by the Eagles.

Trey Vetter had 13 points for Lake Mead.

White Pine 70, Laughlin 48 — At Laughlin, Jonathan Gust scored 19 points to lead the Bobcats over the Cougars.

Chris Young had 16 points for White Pine.

Corey Anderson poured in 30 points, and Tyler Furr scored 14 for Laughlin.

Lincoln County 46, Needles 44 — At Needles, Calif., McClain O’Connor had 18 points as the Lynx rallied by the Mustangs.

Derek Shumway added 11 points for Lincoln County, which trailed 32-29 after three quarters, but made 10 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter.

Devin Darrow and Michael Chavez each had 11 points for Needles, which had a potential game-winning 3-pointer hit the front of the rim as time expired.

Beaver Dam 59, Indian Springs 24 — At Littlefield, Ariz., Carlos Sherrill had 19 points to help the Diamondbacks roll by the Thunderbirds.

Eddy Castro added 16 points, and Luis Gonzalez scored 14 for Beaver Dam.

Donald Watkins led Indian Springs with seven points.

Pahranagat Valley 45, Round Mountain 22 — At Alamo, Cody Williams led a balanced attack with 11 points as the Panthers topped the Knights.

Shawn Wadsworth, Tabor Maxwell and Wade Leavitt each supplied eight points for Pahranagat Valley, which led 22-9 at halftime.

Payton Brown led Round Mountain with 11 points.

Sandy Valley 69, Lund 33 — At Lund, the Sidewinders rolled by the Mustangs.
